PMU is big, but even so you can get lost and it’s very likely to happen if you don’t know where you are going.
For instance, notice how almost every location around Grassroot Town plainly says “Exbel Plains”. There are plains all around as far as you can see but you will get lost easily if you do not know where you are going. I think that there should be more flare/variety in the names of certain areas in and around Exbel to make locations and dungeons more noticeable. Below I have a list of ideas for changing the names for some maps.

Rename Idea: Barricade Fields (for all the rocks and barricades surrounding it, more could be added to reflect the name)
Location: The sea West of Abyssal Gap and Cliffside Cave.

Location: The coastline West of Abyssal Gap.
Rename Idea: West Exbel Coast
Location: Directly South of Exbel Plains, Faded Meadow.
Rename Idea: Exbel Plains, Faded Meadow (along the same path, the storage and assembly are South of the entrance, music is also different)
Location: Crossroads leading to Mineral Cavern and Harmonic Tower.
Rename Idea: Dual Coast (there are two coastlines, if not that then at least change to Exbel Coast. The Northern section is “Exbel Plains” when it is the coast)
Location: The map East of Crossroads containing Caterpie and possibly Weedle.
Rename Idea: Buggy Meadows (or something of the sort, I also suggest adding Kricketot)
Location: The area South of the above suggestion that says Exbel Coast.
Rename Idea: Exbel Plains (there is no “coast”, music should also be changed)
Location: Tanren Watery Outlook
Rename Idea: Winden-Tanren Watery Outlook (or something of the sort, multiple points of Winden border Tanren in this location)
Location: Area West of Winden Forest Entrance
Rename Idea: Western Winden Taiga
Location: Winden Forest Entrance
Rename Idea: Winden Forest (the map has trees in it, so technically the map itself is also the forest)
Location: Winden Taiga entrance to Crystal Ruins
Rename Idea: Sub-Zero Zone | Forsaken Pass (Sandslash NPC states that the area ahead is colder than the rest of Winden. Sandslash should also get a name)
Location: Winden Taiga Southeast of Snowbasin with the haystack and fire
Rename Idea: Rest Zone | Rest Camp (possibly map a tent or two for better reflection)
Location: Winden Taiga bordering a sea to the East, music changes
Rename Idea: Far Eastern Winden Taiga
Location: Winden Taiga very far to the West with a fence blocking off farther access

Note: I haven’t completely surveyed Archford yet, but Exbel, Winden, and Tanren are as close to complete as they can.
