New dungeon concept - Fantastical Storybook

  • End game Fairy / Steel / Normal dungeon consisting of level 80-100 pokemon and 70 Floors (Pages hehe). This dungeon takes place inside a cursed story book where the adventurer has been tasked with saving pokemon who have been transported into the book and has to venture through the story in order to break this enchantment and return from whence they came. The dungeon itself can have multiple themes as it progresses as it is changing their stories as time continues and can lead to a lot of interesting dynamics.

  • To get into this dungeon, you must go to the Grand Library in East Winden and there will be a peculiar book sitting all alone on a table, the librarian nearby will warn you not to touch this book or you could be whisked away into the book itself. Everyone there is too scared to touch this book as others have tried and they haven’t come back from the book itself. The librarian begs that if the adventurer is strong and brave enough, they have to rescue their friends that were unfortunate enough to touch this book.

  • Inside the book, there are a few minibosses that the player gets themselves involved with, such as getting in the middle of a battle between 2 knightly orders of escavalier and aegislash, Or being ambushed by an Impidimp and a “supposedly brave” pokemon comes to “vanquish thy foe” as it’s his duty- before getting cut short by more and more suddenly appearing even in evolved form and that pokemon quickly bolt away in fear. Though you will notice that in this book, all the pokemon will play “their part” in this story whatever their role may be, lest they be foolish enough to disrupt the natural order of the plot that could have unforeseen consequences.

  • Pokemon in this dungeon with the typing Fairy, Steel, and Normal give a good variety of types that aren’t too commonly used and can allow pokemon who haven’t been put into dungeons yet such as Corviknight, Drampa, Flabebe etc, not to mention they are good picks for a story book themed dungeon! This also means with the typing that this could be a very hard dungeon as mobs here can resist a fair amount of typings and hit for super effective as well. A good typing for this supposed dungeon would be fire, humorous to think burning a book would be a very good way to deal with the horrors within!

  • The 2nd to end boss will have all (if not the leaders) of the minibosses gang up on you as you’re attempting to ruin their world by adventuring too far in while still keeping their jovial storybook talk, after defeating them they drop their tone and don’t try to act in characters but out of fear that if you go too far and fail, they all could pay for not stopping you. You reassure these characters you’ll put a stop to the magic’s at place. Upon reaching the last page is the climax of the story, however that is also the strongest part of the story. (I am unsure what sprites have been added but my original thinking was having yveltal at the end of the story as an oppressive force keeping the curse of this story from ending till defeated in combat or having to fight corrupted swords of justice mons like Cobalion, Keldeo, and Terrakion as a last line of defense. They do not say anything, instead walk closer prompting you to combat in defense. Regardless, there is a lot of potential for the end boss in this story!) Upon reaching the final page, you are met with a peculiar crystal stabilizer and you feel a bad omen from keeping this structure intact, so you manage to destroy it and with a flash- teleported to a broom closet (end room) where pokemon who have been teleported into the book have been freed. They give you their thanks and also urge you to take the treasure that had also come out.

What do you think about this concept? I tried to think of many things that could be included or used to give the dungeon a unique identity to stand out while giving it a good sense of dungeon exploring and adventure… it’s like almost as if it’s two stories in one! Post any constructive comments below as I like to keep myself thinking of new ideas and to improve from feedback c:

Cool idea! Frigid Heights feels like it needs more purpose, and this would be one way to do so.
