Pokemon: And the Dark Castle

Waking up from his nap from a commotion nearby, Coby’s sleep then turned into shock, as he saw three giant hands obliterating everything. Sweet mother of Arceus He said, just as he dodged a watery hand throwing a punch at him. “Oh its on buddy” he growled, a dark aura spewed from his body, just barely missing the watery hand. From previous training with his, now deceased, father he pushed his paws onto the ground, and jumped, getting some air, and managed to fire a Hyper Beam at the hand. It went straight through it, making a huge wound, but then the water resealed itself, as if nothing had happened. Coby growled again, as the watery hand swung at him with its fist, knocking him into a wall. He hit his head pretty badly against it too. The last thing he remembered was falling asleep.

A large white beam scraped the edge of the Lightning Fist’s knuckles. “You okay, there?!” Bird yelled. He had noticed the leafeon being grabbed by the hand, and decided to help. It’s using electric attacks, and I am a Ground Type, after all. he thought. He had to be careful, so as not to hit it’s prisoner. He cranked out another Hyper Beam at an angle so that it wouldn’t hurt the pokémon, after propelling himself out of the way of a crushing attack.

Astral no longer had much choice, either let the Minun fall, or both of them potentially die. The only way she could help the Minun is if he would just shut his ya-

The oddly colored Gabite felt something bump into her, she began to fall down the crevasse, she grabbed the Minun in her mouth and spun, flinging him out of the hole. She grabbed onto the side of the wall with her claws, but she was slipping, the soil was too moist. She was startled when a clone dived down also, tackling her off the wall and using a drill peck into her chest, it looked like a Fearow, but she couldn’t be sure.

The pokemon flung her out and threw he into a tree.
She roared in pain, holding her chest which was punctured by the attack. Wearily she opened her eyes, before her was an Azelf…a legendary, in this part of the forest? Why would a legendary be here?

She saw something flash in the corner of her eye, the light was seared her eyes and she was forced to seal them.
They quickly adjusted, and she saw something weird. It was similar to that of Lugia’s wing, she had never seen something like this before.

It was about to hit the Azelf. Astral growled and jumped up, currently behind the Azelf. Her wound was too deep though, she fell onto her knees coughing up blood. She struggled to stand again, this guy was in major trouble if something wasn’t done about it.

Astral growled, her arms crossed in an X shape and her claws on either side of her face. Blood was slowly dripping from the wound, nearly reaching her legs by now.

She growled as sharp, arrow head stones circled her in two rings. She roared as she drew back her arms quickly, her fins scraping across each other. The stones were suddenly attracted to her right claw as she pulled it back further.

“Watch it” She whispered to the Azelf, before launching several sharp stones at the Fiery hand, she didn’t expect it to do any damage, she only needed to distract it, then she could lure it away from the Azelf, where she could conduct her ‘not very well thought’ plan.

He was just about to fire off an incredible, life changing attack, when suddenly rocks came flying at the giant FLAME HAND. “What in the world…?” And he whipped his head to find a serverely injured Gabite on the ground, in a literal bloody mess.

“By god!” Are you alright? He yelled at her, seeming to forget his pain. “Hang in there. I’ll try to–” He sensed three things. One, this Gabite has an extrodinary will power. He’s noticed this about four different times now, and was wondering how often this will be going on. Two, there was another being with equal power, but much more malevolence in his or her heart. Though he can’t seem to find it.

And what happened to the firey hand?

He would look around, but it seems to have dissappeared. He looks around further, then detects the figure at the peak of the castle. However, this was registered to him as unimportant. There was a bloody lady on the ground.

He hovered his little Azelf self while on high guard. A few of the dark clones had regained their unmentioned unconciousness and proceeded to surround them. And then he remembered something completely amazing and useful.

Azelf can teleport.

The lightning hand dropped Sinacar, then headed toward the larvitar. However, she attacked the hand with her shadow-frost attack, and when it hit, it did a bit of damage, but didn’t freeze it… instead, it started exploding on the surface of the hand because of the lightning, like the candy, pop rocks.

OOC: … er… how much total HP these things got? @-0

Valiance slashed at the lightning hand with his claw, still smothered in shadows, but he soon realized all his attacks were now useless. He had no moves that weren’t physical, therefore he couldn’t hurt these things at all. “Shoot!” He murmured a curse under his breath. “Hey, you! I can’t help with defeating this hand thing because I can’t hit it at all…,” Val shouted to the Leafeon. Instead, he concentrated on slashing through the clones, trying to clear out as many as possible. “We need a plan…we can’t hold off for forever!”

Gonna take more than that to stop me. Coby said to himself. He waited until the Watery hand had it’s “back” to him, and stocked up on Work Up’s, increasing his attack and sp.attack. He then let out a charged up hyper beam, which on contact with the Watery hand managed to cause a huge hole in the center, like before, however, this time the wound did not reseal, it stayed as it was. The Watery hand lunged a flurry of punches and swipes at Coby, who managed to dodge them easily. Coby let out another Hyper Beam, which went through the Watery hand’s fingers, so it could no longer clench it’s fist. It now looked like the Watery log but with stumps out the tip. The Watery log collapsed into a pool of water, and his job was done… Or was it?
The Watery hand rose from the pool of water, smaller than before, but more agile, swift and lethal. Shoot. Looks like this isn’t over yet! Coby pouted to himself.

“Alright. I don’t have to hold back anymore.” Bird started to use Hyper Beam but instead of cutting off the power, he held it and kept the beam going. The blast seemed to carve a hole in the hand, and he kept going until the hand was completely gone. Bird dropped on the ground. “Th-There… Urk… I’ll regret this for the next week… Stupid hand… Just don’t come back…” He rolled over on to his back. No way that thing’s dead, he thought. I just hope if it respawns, it does it later…

As the hands formed, Coy became enthusiastic.

“I got the lightning hand,” Coy said. While Coy was enthusiasticly speaking his mind, the lightning hand moved away. Coy’s enthusiasm turned into anger. He quickly charged at the lightning hand with all his might. He did his ace move:night slash with a side of crit hit. When Coy attacked the lightning hand something wasn’t right. The lightning hand just kept moving and terroizing the town more. Coy was flabbergasted.

“There is no hope…” Coy was saying. The only suprising thing was how quickly his enthusiasm turned into anger, which turned into sadness. However, Coy saw something miraculous. Other pokemon were attacking the lightning hand. Just as quickly as the sadness came, the sadness left. Coy’s enthusiasm returned and he jumped on top of the lightning hand and used his favorite move, because it was so strong, superpower.

Astral growled as she stood herself up, she practically dragged her feet across the ground like a watered down paper towel, she stood beside the Azelf, her back wide open, in fact, she doubted she could block an attack from any angle.

“…you’re not going to run away are you?” She said, a flicker of a smile crossing her face as the ends of her mouth curled slightly.

Currently they were in the forest…so essentially…this would count as long grass…possibly.
Astral growled as he claws both began to glow. She placed the tips against each other. Her eyes began to glow white, and so did the floor around her feet.

She growled as the lights faded, her fins now cloaked in the white light. She put her arms in an X formation and once again, drew them back quickly.
From her fins were thrown several small blades, green and made of light.

The attack had an uncanny resemblance to Magical leaf, however this was different.
The blades of attack struck the opponents, dealing grass type damage like a regular magical leaf. However, one of the clones fell to sleep, a secondary effect to the attack.

That was how Secret power worked, it would allow the user to deal a move similar to a commonly known one, however Secret Power has the potential to add a status effect to that attack…but it doesn’t always work.

Astral growled at the Clones which were slowly closing in.
The Clone colored Gabite growled as the clones approached, slowly, slowly.

Fire began to well up within the dragon type’s mouth as she roared. She blasted a stream of fire at the clones in front of her, but one of them blocked it, it was the Fearow. It flapped it’s wings and rendered the attack useless.

Her strong will came with a strong sense of pride, he guessed.

“Running away: no. Going to find and answer: Yes.” After hovering there for a full on second while she took on the clones, and as he winced in the slight pain from his fairly argueable broken arm, he came up with a grand idea.
“We need to get to the castle and make sure the King is all right. Perhaps he coul—” A blob snuck up behind him. He knew fully well that if he was touched things would get crazy. “Thunderbolt.” Pure energy manifested into lightning and shot the blob. It crippled, dissolved, and flew into the air as smoke. All nearby clones winced and shielded their eyes.

And that’s when it hit him.
“Brilliant! How could I not see it?! You there? Gabite with the strange colors, do you see what I’ve found?!” And then he shot lightning at the nearby apponent, using a little more effort to make it shine. “We fight with the light and make our way into the castle!” And he then cleared all clones around him and the Gabite with thunderbolt.

Astral nodded, baring her fangs and wincing at the pain in her chest. She held her fin over it, blocking it from any attack.
“Right” She whispered, putting her claw to her forehead. Her fin started to glow once more.

“I don’t think I can make it there” Said Astral, growling under her breath. “I’ll catch you up, just get going”

She drew back her fin quickly, still holding her right arm over her chest.
The leaves of the attack spun around her as a counter shield, their radiance was brighter than the last.
“I’ll watch your back” She said, casting the attack once more, but using them to circle the Azelf.

“You better be careful, they may have already reached the castle.”

She knew she’d probably make it there, but she just didn’t know how. She never cared for what she referred to as ‘the normals’. Not like they cared about her either…

Yells and shouts of many pokemon were heard beyond the gates of the entrance, the pokemon able to fly were quick to start the assault.

Astral screamed in horror as the many fliers burst into her school, savagely beating on her and her friends.
The teacher barely stood a chance at the onslaught of attacks.
Astral silently ran behind one of the desks, keeping her head low and remaining silent.

She watched from a safe distance as one by one, each of her Twilight brethren where dragged into the harsh light of the eclipse.

But one of the sacrifices their clan was forced to make…

After the Lightning Hand fell, Coy went back into the forest. He must see how the Azelf is. Going as fast as he can, he found Azelf just when Azelf came to a breakthrough.

“Nice,“Coy said towards the Azelf”, I see you figured out how to beat them. There is but one problem, I’m a dark type, how DO I do that.” That was the only thing Coy really cared about at that instant, killing all the blobs.

{Sorry for my inexistance. I was doing homework.}

But while the fellow pokemon with strong wills continued to fight the beings of shadows, another being stepped onto the playing field.
The king said.

A few soldiers ran down the corridor of the unfinished castle to the peak, where the King would normally commute with other Pokemon about the Kingdom. The King wasn’t busy at first, but then he began to notice something odd. He saw thousands of pokemon being devoured by darkness.

“My lord!” His loyal soldier yelled while opening the door.
“My fellow pokemon are being enslaved.” He said as his head shifted side to side. “What information have you gathered?”
“From what I’ve seen, Sire, it seems a few of the pokemon in the village…” He was lost, looking for his words. “Have… Twins. No, that isn’t it… Clones. Dopplegangers, my liege.”

He was hesitant, not being able to fully process the thought. Then the sky changed from clear to black and stormy. Lightning rained. The water turned dark. “What is going on in my Kingdom?!”
And then lightning struck the tower. The shockwave struck through the air. The King’s loyal sodier fell into the wall, instantly being knocked out.
“My Kingdom is falling appart… By a random force of darkness…?”

“No.”

The King whipped around. There was an unrecognisable silhouette on the wall opposite the enourmous windows, but nothing more.
“Speak now, or forever hold your piece. Who is there?” He was obviously getting angry with this being, automatically assuming it is it’s fault.
“I am only here to chat with myself.”
“I am not you, demon.”
“Oh but you are.” Said the shadow. It then adopted the shape of the King’s body. “Can’t you tell?”
“NO GAMES.” He yelled "Stop the reign of terror you’ve bestowed apon my world.
“My world.” And then the King changed. His color tone changed. It darkened to a dull gray. The King’s eyes turned from yellow to red. His details inverted their scheme, turning into sky blue. The shadow dissappeared.

Only to take form as the King himself. The Demon of Darkness is now the King."

Meanwhile at the crossroads.

Ryriko looked behind him. “Did you honestly ask me how to do something of just ease?” He sighed. He didn’t want to explain anything. Not now. Nor did he have the answers to solve anything. “Just do it. It doesn’t matter what type you are…” He looked towards the sky. Slowly, the arms that were knocked out or wounded slowly began to reform. “I guess even the darkest ones have their moments of true brightness… Whoever is doing this is a very powerful pokemon.”

He looked back at the Absol, then the Gabite. “Focus your will into your attacks. Charge them with your will and they will shine with determination and power. Let this Gabite” He still did not know on her name, which he found rude and impolite that he hadn’t asked. “Ride on your back. She’s injured. We need to find the Pupitar, Leafeon and the Braviery with the strong wills. They will be very useful in the long run.”

He felt as though he was standing there too long. Perhaps the enemy was making more blobs. The black smoke of the defeated enemies rose into the air and collected into the clouds.
“I hope Mespirit and Uxie are okay…” He mumbled to himself.

“Urk… Somebody…” Bird tried to get back up. I can’t move… I’m a sitting duck for anything that comes by… He tried to get up again, still to no avail. Spotting a clone in the distance, he tried to get up one last time. It’s hopeless… He rolled over. One last idea… He let out a final hyper beam, hoping the force would get him back in a mobile position. Lucky, his last-ditch attempt worked. He could jet himself somewhere safe, albeit a little slowly. After a little while, he saw a group of a few pokémon that didn’t appear to be clones. Strangely enough, there was a legend amongst them. What is he doing?! If a legendary pokémon like him is captured, then… He didn’t finish the thought. I can’t burden them… I can barely move… He tried to move again, but couldn’t get going. He fell on the ground, unable to keep himself in mid-air. This really figures… I shouldn’t have stopped moving…

Ooc// Astral is OLD!! … [Ignore that]
By the way, Italic is a thought, Bold is a Flashback (Or me giving you an insight), Bold & Italic is usually a dream.
(This Bold & Italic piece is basically to separate Astral’s Flashback from Cody’s story.

She turned to the Absol. “I believe your move Psycho cut produces light…I saw it when you were fighting”
The Twilight Gabite shut her eyes and sighed, listening to the Azelf carefully.

Astral didn’t mind the somewhat lacking respect she had. Most of her life she was referred to as ‘Gabite’, she practically gave up trying to introduce herself…even now she didn’t necessarily want to spill out her personal information.

Her claw was drawn closer to her fin, almost as if she could make a fist of it…something rather incapable truthfully.
“…Don’t worry about me, I can look after myself” She said, absent mindedly giving the Azelf a rather aggresive glare. She closer her eyes and took a deep breath. The leaves that were spinning around her fell to the ground, dry, brown and dead.

“Hehehe, come on Slowpoke” Cheered the Dark Twilight Gible.
The blossom trees were in full bloom, their pink and white petals giving complement to the lush green grass below.
“I said wait up!” The Flareon was slowly trailing along, finding difficulties in keeping up, even with the stubby legged pokemon.

“Heh, I take it back, you’re a Slowking!” Astral quickly ran ahead, her laughing echoed throughout the mountains enclosing their small village, their ancient temple practically resembled that of a palace or a castle.
The Flareon began to gasp for air, his orange and cream fur was drenched in sweat. He struggled to keep himself up.
“How. Do. You. Do. That.” He said, gasping between each word.

She wasn’t entirely sure why, but the way he was acting reminded her of a Magikarp.
“Haha, Why are you doing? Slowking” She said, emphasis on the Slowking.
“Shut. Up” Said the Flareon, his words were said with a playful tune.

Both of them suddenly stood straight as they heard something behind them. An ear piercing, glass shattering, blood curdling scream…
“Mother?” Whispered the Flareon, suddenly dashing ahead towards the village. “MOTHER?!”
Astral and the Flareon ran through the streets, now Astral was having trouble with the pace.

They eventually reached the town center. The crowds formed a black and white ring around the event.
“Mother?!” Shouted the Flareon as she forced his way through. Astral dug her way around the crowd and into the center. They were too late…

The fire was spreading, no amount of water could save them now.

“Cody!”
“No Rex get down!”
Cody gasped and struggled for breath, the Metagross was slowly crushing the weight out of him. One, Two, Three audible cracks, it’s weight was crushing his bones.
Rex roared as he jumped up, slamming a Brick Break into the Metagross’ face.
The Steel type didn’t budge, his eyes turned to face the one who struck him.

Rex gasped. The Psychic attack rendered him useless. He felt himself being squeezed, he could barely breath.
“Rex!”
The Shiny Ninetales ran at the Metagross with a powerful Flare Blitz.

Easily the Metagross countered with another Psychic attack, targeting both at once.
Corona screamed as she was so easily batted away, by an invisible force no less… The Ninetales landed beside the breathless Buizel, her seven tails matted and torn.

“C-corona?”
She bit her teeth as she struggled to stand. “D-Don’t worry kid, I’ll get us out of this…”
The sky seemed to darken, the Ninetales’ silver fur shone like the moon. She growled and spread out her tails behind her, the odd gap on the right side of her body, where she had lost two tails before. An obvious battle scar.

The tips of her tails suddenly caught alight, one after the other. “Grr. Inferno!” She yelled, hurling the seven balls of flickering fires at the Metagross, watching as they burst into flames.
The Metagross screamed, rearing onto it’s back legs, certainly it seemed unbelievable, but it happened.

Rex landed on the ground with a thud, all the air crushed from his lungs, blood slowly spilling from his mouth. The Grovyle never looked good in red…

Cody gasped as he felt the earth start to vibrate. He turned his head slightly over his right shoulder, he could see the Ninetales panting, staring at the Grovyle. A steady trail of red was pouring from the parting in his lips. The rain only seemed to make it worse. It didn’t take long for the slight trickle to turn into a shallow sea of crimson water.

Cody’s heart pace suddenly spiked. He felt himself being lifted. All he could see was a rain of blood, before his eyes faded to black.

“You see, I noticed you used an electric attack and electricity is a form of light. Since the blobs are darkness, it is only obvious that an electric attack so kill them. Also, Azelf you call yourself a great one, but your hesitation and unwillingness to answer my question has angered me. I have lost all respect of you. So I will go and check on the king,” Coy said. He ran quickly to where the king was, to find out what was going on and what to do. It was urgent, if anything where to happen to the king, the whole city would be in outrage.

Astral gave a smooth growl, she felt completely ignored there…
She held her fin tightly against her wound, looking into the black sky.
“…well, at least he went to school” She joked in regard to his electric, light and darkness.

She sighed and put her other claw by her hip and sighed.
“Is it always me or does everyone seem to link black and red with evil?” She said quietly, more to herself than anyone else. She shut her eyes, her tail scratching the ground as it swayed.

“Well, he’s off to find the king, and we need to find those other guys, the Leafeon and whatever the others were”
Astral looked around at the forest.
“I’ll look towards the village if that’s OK with you” She said to the Azelf.

She didn’t know why she trusted him, maybe it was because he helped her? Maybe, she couldn’t be sure. But either way, something was eating at her, warning her not to trust anyone. Possibly it was because of her solitary life? Questions were little thought of at this moment, something was going on, and something has to be done.

He looked at the back of the Absol he oh so angered.
“An Azelf can forcably take the will of any pokemon if one so desired.” The Absol, he thought, might not be able to hear him from this distance, yet he continued. “You confused will and knowlege. I am not Uxie. Do not make that mistake again…”
His will, or more so his pride, was on fire. But now wasn’t the time to get sucked into his own emotions.
That’s Mespirit’s job.

“Don’t mind him. He’s an imputent Pokemon. I could be wrong about his strong will. Fools never last long.” He winced in his own pain."The faster we get our teams, the faster we get to the castle. He kept going on and on in his head until he could puke from the thought. “Let’s keep moving Mis–” He hesitated.

“Look, right there. A faint pulse of will leaks in that direction.” He squinted his eyes. “A Pupitar, and a tired one at that. Let’s hurry to it and make sure it’s alright.”

The sky flashed lightning. Another round of blobs were going to start up again. The hands quite easily regained there previous sizes despite all attacks.

“And then the castle shook. I have a faint memory of what happened. I fell to my side. I roared a roar so loud that the castle shook. It could be heard from ten miles away. My castle quaked and trembled. The ground beneath it rose. The castle was literally being lifted into the air!”
Several gasps exploded into the audience.
“Ahh yes… This would explain why the castle has a very small tilt in it, if you would look closely.” He would look beneath him. “Ah right. Where was I…?”

Astral folded her arms and watched the Azelf.
She kept it quiet, but she didn’t necessarily like how he rambled on about willpower. He just seemed a little verbose to her. Not like she was any better, she probably wouldn’t like herself if she was able to, in fact, she didn’t like herself as it was.

The dark Gabite sighed, noticing the Azelf’s pain. “Look, why don’t you rest, I’ll go”
She shook the dripping blood off her right fin again, holding it back to her chest. She was used to this sort of pain by now…well, not really. She just had more of a defiant attitude towards it. Some would consider pain an unpleasant feeling related with damage, some would consider a pinch painful, whereas some consider it an annoyance. Those sometimes find true pain that of losing a limb.

Either way, no matter how you put it. No amount of wounds could match that of Emotional damage.
She walked towards the area the Pupitar supposedly was. She knew that the Azelf probably wouldn’t take no for an answer and keep on, but there’s a fine line between will power and stupidity. She just didn’t want him to go off and kill himself.

“I’ll go get the Pupitar, why don’t you just stay there and see if you can find the others willpower or whatever” She said, turning to find the pokemon again.

She walked for quite a while, but the pokemon was nowhere to be seen.
She growled, looking around. Then she heard it, it sounded like crunching of leaves.
She looked around for the source of the sound. On the floor behind some trees laid the blue pokemon.
She walked over, trying not to hurt herself.

“Hey, Pupitar, are you alright?” She said, trying to roll him back over with one arm.
“Hey, no time to be lazing about” She said, clenching her jaws together, able to roll him over, just barely.
