What it means is “What should the finished result of the sprite be colored as?” or “What should the color be when the splice has been made?”
For example, I could splice Pikachu and Oshawott. For the colors, you could put “Pikachu Colors”, and then I would use Pikachu colors.
Another example can be found by what members have requested in the sprite form. You could look through the people that have requested something through my shop.

Here is your sprite, Post12346. It was… Interesting, to say at the least. The wings were difficult to place and recolor. In fact, I might have to recolor them again since it just seems out of place. The rest of the sprite was easy though.

Scizor and Gallade first! I was watching “Quest for Camelot” recently, so the first idea that came to mind is the guys that morphed with their armor. So I thought about the claws and how it could effect the head and other pieces of the body. And so, this Gallade came into being!
Now, for Darkrai and Scizor! It was an interesting sprite. Your description was confusing at first, but I understood a little later after reading it over again. I wanted to put a little more depth to the sprite, so I put Darkrai’s “smokey” shoulders and added it to the sprite. The coloring, though, was confusion to say in the least, so I did the best I could with your description. You said “black and white with a red body”, so I did my best there.
Well, this was quite fun, to say in the least!
