I hope you guys at PMU like suggestions, I’ve got some! But I think perhaps this is the suggestion I should start with because this ol’ forum could benefit from an update and it lays the foundation for future improvements. What I’m trying (and probably failing) to target is ease of use and good communication.
What would change: The entire PMU forum would be scrutinized. Move a few things here and there, post a few necessary topics, build a few categories and forums, and shake your heads disapprovingly at the god-awful results while shaking your fists and shouting “Why, that PoochieHead has bamboozled us yet again!”
Haha, I’m kidding…! I hope.
For example,
[ul]Create a new forum category titled “The Archives.” A locked forum (no new posts) titled “Archived” would be made there, and forum parts that are no longer necessary or relevant would be moved there to die peacefully.
[li]The PMU 7 forum? Archived.[/li]
[li]A new forum category titled “PMU Development” to be added, located under the Pokémon Mystery Universe category and above General. The Suggestions and Contributions, Support, Map Editor, and Skins forums would then find a new home here.[/li]
[li]A new subforum would be added to Suggestions, titled “Acknowledged.” Suggestions that have been acknowledged by the staff would be moved there in a timely fashion if they are to be accepted. Currently, you don’t necessarily know if your suggestion is going to be implemented and the Acknowledged subforum would be a great way to communicate just that![/li]
[li]A sticky is to be posted in Suggestions with some kind of simple guideline template and a reminder for people to search in Acknowledged before posting. Ideally you could simply merge it with shocky’s compendium and put the original list under a spoiler tag. Something like (still with the links of course):[/li]

[li]Bugs subforum to be removed from Support and given its own forum. This change might need extra justification, so consider this: I think Bugs is the most important subforum on the entire domain, and having it under Support might result in people posting their errors in Support instead of Bugs (and it already has). [/li]
[li]A sticky to be added in Bugs with an error reporting template. I’m surprised you guys didn’t have one already! Also the last properly filed (i.e. posted in the Bugs subforum) error report was in April. April! I experienced a bug on my first darn day, but I didn’t have a forum account at the time with which to report it. I hope the community can improve in this regard, after all, PMU could use all the help it can get![/ul][/li]
Why would it change: These are some varied change suggestions for the PMU forum and at first glance it might just seem like a laundry list or a plain update. What binds all of these suggestions together, however, is their goal. I believe these changes, no matter how small they might seem individually, will add up to a forum that’s even more organized, clear, and easy to use than it already is!
When would it change: I think a realistic time frame to achieve this might range from as soon as a couple of days to as late as a week, depending on how busy or burdened the forum staff is at the moment.
Have any questions? Ask them! Criticism? Point it out! My ideas are nothin’ special, 5/10 mediocre at best, so I welcome all discussion and dissection as long as we stay constructive and try to move forward.
