3 Things that would be cool for PMU 8

Im just waiting for PMU to open and i just came up with an idea and an improvement!
Drum Roll

  1. i think it would be nicer if the brightness was improved in PMU 8 as PMU 7 always had a weird cloudy feel to it!
  2. FULLSCREEN! you shouldn’t even need to ask why!
  3. For guilds i think a Paradise system like from Infinity, it would be cool if you could buy upgrades for your land and things like that!
Tell me what you think of these ideas, Are they do-able or not?

Erm… okay. I"ll start off by answering the full screen one.
Okay erm… we"ve gone over this loads. If we have a big screen… you do know most of the game would be pixel and that would be horrible… :/ And the brightness, well… you could just alter your computer/laptop so that your brightness is up. xD Also, don"t you think making suggestions is a little to early? We don"t even know what PMU8 is like yet…
However! For the guild… all I say is that there needs to be a actual purpose for them. :o

PMU 8 is a server side change. You shouldn’t be seeing many changes in game (except for less lag). It sets the stage for actual in game updates in the future.

Regarding Full Screen

To keep the visuals in good quality, you would need to resize the whole GUI, not only that, but larger screens might mean larger map view. It could be an unfair advantage to some players. If nothing was resized, making the game full screen would definitely screw up the graphic quality. > - <

Regarding Brightness

Turn some lights on! Adjust your computer’s brightness settings! o:

Regarding the “Paradise System”

Not sure if we need to “upgrade our land” and such. Future NPCs can be used for shops which sell various items. You already have the ability to customize and expand your own house, so . . . You get my drift?

Sorry if I couldn’t fully answer, there wasn’t too much description in your original post!

By “Brightness” i mean get rid of the foggy grey-ish feel to it.
And also i know PMU 8 will mostly be server-sided but its not like there not going to ever add anything are they, like it has been said on the discussion, pmu 7 was the same but they made huge updates, and also i think the land ideas quite good

Maybe i didn’t explain it well enough, for each bit of land you get a different tileset and 3 shops that sell different things, the shops cost money but you get 10% of all money spent there, its an okay idea!

Also this is what i mean by the sort of grey feel

It needs to be brighter!!

And finally, You can get fullscreen without pixelation (It would be a bit hard) but you just need to make the sprites bigger so they dont pixelate, sorry if im being a bit of a tart xD

I dont see anything grey about the image you posted…so i cant really comment on that.
About the fullscreen i had the same idea and i talked about it on the forums around 2 years ago. But then i didnt knew how actually bad the game was gonna look.
And is fullscreen such a problem? I actually always play games windowed mode so i can easily have access to the internet when my phone isnt around…
So nothing of this is necessary…it will just open more work for the staff and that means taking more time to release PMU.

Well to be fair, those are mostly your personal opinions… That doesn’t mean all of these suggestions are out of the question because of how you personally game! I have always had that same cloudy feel when I played PMU, and I think that would be a great change. My house in the game was meant to be very sunshiney (with a giant rainbow!), but it’s in such contrast with the game that the whole universe feels more gray and foggy. If they amped the brightness that would be good, and it wasn’t my computer either. :/
Also, I always love to play games in Fullscreen, it always made the experience alot more engaging. The small window we have just leaves a ton of empty space. People who would perfer to leave the graphics alone, or just plain perfer window mode like you, could leave the Fullscreen feature off. I’m just saying it would be a nice feature to have! And, well like they said this isn’t supposed to be like a command, it’s a suggestion, so they don’t have to do it anyways. Therefore, it’s not adding work at all. Plus, it’s not like we expect this in PMU8’s arrival (Not immediately), I think the a purpose of a Suggestions and Contributions portion of the forums would be for suggestions like these.

I think what you mean is that there isn’t really much contrast in the game. Lack of shadows, lack of light sources.
That’s really all about the tiles that the game is made from.
You could make a new tileset if you wanted, which have more contrast in them.
Good luck with that.

I doubt it’s because of that, it’s more likely the color palette that makes it feel cloudy and foggy. And no one needs your sarcasm. :>_<:

The palette and colors have nothing to do with your so called “foggy look” to the game.
As Chalkali said PMU doesnt have a developed lighting setting which is the reason there are no shadows or light sources.

I am having a hard time understanding the foggy-ness, but apparently more than one person views it as such. If someone could show a comparison or alteration if what you expected or maybe a entree description (but a visual would be best), that’d be awesome!!
Agreed that we lack shadows in the tilesets, though shadows themselves would take a lot of room since they would have to be there separately due to layering.

As for the land suggestion, where would this land be? We already have expansions as agun said, but we also have shops that you can make within your home. I think for now that works practically, unless there are additional details I am missing.

  1. The brightness problem may be because of the time system which I am confused as to how everyone forgot about it._. Play during the Night and Dawn hours and wants the time changes it’ll instantly look bright! Killing most of the ‘fog’.

  2. Full screen may not be made due to Pokémon sprite sizes in PMD1 and PMD2. If someone is kind/helpful enough to enlarge the sprites and all of the tilesets and edit them into something that looks accurate and good then you can have your full screen. But to me, keeping it the current size is somewhat helpful since most of us uses the Forums or Chat(especially now). We may ask for help on Chat or look up guides on the Forums so this makes it somewhat easier to go back and forth.

  3. This suggestion, I plan on expanding in a different thread.

Char i suppose you are kinda right, but what i meant by shop is a gui where you can purchase item’s like keckleon, this could reduce theft? and also bargaining :D

I wish we could steal from kecleon in pmu xD
