A Different Take On The IQ System

INTRODUCTION
Hello people of the PMU forums, you most likely know me for being that guy, yeah, that guy, but in reality I try to help the game by giving some ideas for gameplay.
Anyways, pure bullcrap noone believes anyways aside, I thought of an idea on how the IQ system could work in PMU, since the game takes a different path than the original games as far as some gameplay ideas go, AKA ripping off Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn’s skill system.

OBTAINING SKILLS
Basically, how it works is the player gets a choice for skills, that are in shapes of scrolls, which are obtained in different ways, such as: deluxe boxes, Kecleon mid-dungeon shops, Wobbufet and Wynaut at Spinda’s Cafe (which I’ll tak about later), sidequests (something that the game lacks and could really be fun) etc.

THEIR LIMITATIONS
Now these skills have a limit, which is based on your IQ, so for example, if your IQ was 40 (that is my irl IQ) then that would be your skill capacity, so let’s say there was a skill that was called “bargain”, it basically gives you a small discount on shops, maybe like 10%, its IQ requirement capacity (IQRC in short) would be 30, that means you can also equip another skill with a IQRC of 10 or less.

THE IQ SYSTEM
Now you might be asking: But Glacoe! How do you get more IQ?, now to get more IQ you can eat gummis, (btw, the IQ is not set for each Pokemon, so you don’t have to do this every single time, though it will still be hard) the color of the Gummi doesn’t matter, (and even if you’re an Alakazam you still have the same IQ as a Geodude, deal with it), and if you want a better IQ boost, at the small loan of 500 poke and a gummi you can go to Spinda at his Cafe to make a smoothie, don’t ask how you get smarter by drinking smoothies, me neither.

WOBBUFET’S LOUNGE
I’ve mentioned in the second paragraph about the Wobbufet Lounge at Spinda’s Cafe, it could work as a timely lottery (basically every time time changes, per se it was dusk a second ago and now it’s day in the PMU world, basically like missions) you can pay a fee per every tier of skill there is, so basically for a T1 scroll you pay 5K poke, T2- 10K poke, T3- 100 Royal Gems in DD, there could be a Wobbufet there too.

SKILL TIERS
It’s basically-
T1- “Bargain”- 10% discount on shops (IQRC-30);
T2- “Master Dealer”- 30% discount on shops (IQRC-75);
T3- “Secret Shopper”- 50% discount on shops (IQRC-125);

SUGGESTIONS ON SKILLS
So this is the part where I want everyone to share their opinions and give some ideas and concepts for skills in PMU, just put them over here in the comments.

FINAL WORDS
You can also get IQ from your rank, so basically if you were a guildmaster you’d get a +100 IQ boost, also every smoothie gives you a +10 IQ boost, smoothies can be made by combining at least 3 of the same type gummis.

FINAL FINAL WORDS
What do you think? :o

HONESTLY FINAL WORDS, I KNOW YOU’RE ALREADY DEAD BORED OF THIS GUY’S CRAP
This wall of text might sound a bit vague and maybe even ranty and cringy at times, but remember, I wrote this in 1 short session.

                                                                                                                                     -P.S add Joji's Fungeon

you still here?

I support this

This sounds really neat! Different from the PMD games (no need to implement IQ Groups and gives players a choice in what skills they can learn), but still the IQ system that we lack at the moment. Question though: if a player had an IQ skill, but they wanted to “upgrade” it to the next level, would they be able to “forget” it and open up more usable IQ Points, or would they have to wait until they gain enough IQ Points? (I feel the answer might be the latter, since ranking up provides IQ Points, as well as the fact that while rare, Gummis are not limited in how many you can pick up.)

IMO the most viable thing for ranking up the tiers from T1 to T2 for example would be just having to pay the leftover IQRC, so basically 45 of them with the example skill. Also, if you use a scroll once, you don’t lose it forever, it just goes to your inventory, now the complcated part with this system is how it would get coded, so have fun, Art, if this system gets to be in the game.

i think this is a amazing idea thought i do wonder what else kind of skills could be made if this was a thing in pmu maybe a skill to raise amount of poke u find in dungeons,boosting rare pokemons spawn chances(ik this probely wont be a thing but wanted to bring it up anyways) hmm maybe a item master skill that increases rare items spawns and decreases common spawns: can be bad… if u wanna starve urself /gg lol. : )
