Academy Of The Arcane Artes [Roleplay]

She laughed back. She felt her horns too, thinking about everything. Thinking about those long years of acrobatics, her way to escape from reality. She has abs from them. Her art really never improved, but she didn’t care… She could get away for hours at a time until Angie came in. Angie was so nice. Sometime Enge would lash out at her, for being ‘stupid’. She was the stupid one. She left her sister… Even if she was popular at school, Enge was Angie’s closest friend. She left Daddy too. Enge always blamed it on Daddy for never visiting her. Engeli never visited Daddy.

A hypocrite. Why couldn’t she let go? Her face wrinkled up a bit while she was laughing, but alas she forgot for one moment when she saw that someone was like her. She wasn’t the only freak in the world.

“Hey, my name is Engeli! You can call me Enge,” she giggled. “Hey, look at this!” she took off her shoes and displayed her hooves with fur. “I’m glad I met someone like me… I was isolated for so–” she cut off.

“Thats another story for another time,” she said with a cold smile, attempting to look happy.

“Really sorry about that there.” He apologised to the male and sighed softly, wanting to ask about his “mental problem” but he feared he may offend the young man, he folded his arms into his chest.

"Sorry, we kind of got of on the wrong foot…The name’s Cozuka…You can call me Coza though. " he smiled pleseantly at thought of making friends, whereas he may not stand out as much as everyone, he did feel as though he was welcome.

The thought of his mental problem kept arising, no one is more curious than Coza is that’s for sure.

(“Oh hey look! He’s being nice all of a sudden.”)

“Shut it Zane…” He whispered quietly to himself before replying to Coza. “No need. It is my fault for holding a bow at ladies. You had ever right. As did both of those women in hitting me.” He winced slightly.

“Sorry, we kind of got on the wrong foot…the name’s Cozuka…You can call me Coza, though.” He smiled and Seth nodded his head. “Hi, I’m Seth.” He replied, looking at the ground. He could hear the soft chiming of Chex’s bell. A luxury no one but a witch like himself would get. He winced again and then bit his lip.

(“Hey. Kid, you alright?”)

“I’m fine now. It’s gone.” He replied to Zane. He felt it again. The tugging, the pulling. It always reminded him of how much time he had left…not much. He and Zane had to figure out something before it was too late.

(“You let me know if it happens again. Your my pet, remember?”)

Seth couldn’t help but smile. “So, Coza. Where are you from?” He tried to act casual as Blu trotted up besides him. The blue cat let out a yawn as she laid besides Seth, the gleaming whip attached to her back.

He nods to prove that he’s listening, gliding his hands down his body and into pockets, he seemed alot more relaxed and more at ease for some reason.

“Cool name, It’s good to meet you.” he says making eye contact and within the brief moment of akwardness, he begins looking around the area, noticing the differences between here and home, even the air smelled and seem to taste fairly different.

His attention drawn baxk to Seth the second he spoke, signifying he was all ears and happy to listen, like any good listener.

“where am I from?” Repeating the question in a friendly manner, replying in a similar tone. “Ah, just a small village around Karuza City…” he pauses for a second and decides to go on “On Earth…” he says quite proudly.

He decided to reply with the same question asked upon himself. “And you? Where’d 6ou come from?” he asks geniunly curious, anything to keep the conversation going.

OOC: Random names for the win.

“Isolated?” Remii repeated under her breathe after Engeli said it. She felt bad. She hadn’t been completely isolated, only rejected. She ignored it for the time being and simply smiled back, a warm smile.

“Okay, Enge~ I’m Remii, but most people call me Sheepire—” she cut herself off immediately. She hadn’t meant to say that or tell her she was part vampire yet. She hoped the silver haired girl hadn’t made sense of what her nickname really meant, but she was probably too smart to just ignore a hint like that. Her green with a small hint of blue eyes reflected how panicked she was to if the girl would reject her for being part vampire. She wanted to ask. To get the question out of the way.

“You… um,” she started to say before stopping herself. “N-never mind,” she said quickly, a hint of rashness in her voice. Shear nudged her again, and she petted his head once again before looking back over to Seth. He was talking to another boy. It was the boy who had said “Stop!” after she slapped Seth. Remii barely recognized him, since she hadn’t really paid any attention to him.

After looking at Seth for about 30 seconds, she looked back to the pole with the sign that had a picture of a griffin and sighed. It felt as if she had been waiting forever. She kicked a loose pebble and said silently, “When will the darn griffin be here…”

The last few hours went by too quickly. Chris looked uncertainly to his belongings, which would be coming with him on the trip. He then looked at the keep, which was his home for the last five years. Finally, he looked towards his friends. They were just as close to him, if not closer, than his own family. It was going to be hard to leave this place.

There were so many things that he wanted to say, but couldn't manage to get them out. "I...." he started. "Thank you," he managed. "Everyone... I... Thank you... For everything." He nodded his goodbye, and pressed the button on his letter.

He was now standing amidst a group of other beings. They were all different, but they all looked relatively normal. A few had horns, but Chris didn't really care. There was one person who stood out to him; A guy who didn't look too much younger than himself, but with a scar along his face. He looked extremely familiar.

"Greetings, everyone. My name is Chris," he said with a bow. He took off his helmet, and flashed them a smile.

Isaac, having been one of the first to arrive, had been standing there like a statue with his hands resting on the hilt of his blade thrust into the ground since. His eyes were blank and staring ahead into space, unblinking and void of emotion as with the rest of his face. On a quick glance one would think that he were only a figurine, however on close inspection, his soft breathing could be seen and heard.

Isaac’s training as a Paladin and Radiant Knight lead to him standing guard many times as a job. Often through an entire night, robbing him of any sleep whatsoever. He would get in trouble for dozing off on the job many times, though nothing ever happened on any of his shifts as far as he could remember. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t help but doze off a few times. Guard duty taught him how to sleep while standing and eventually how to sleep with his eyes open.

It would appear that this would be another instance of him sleeping with his eyes open. Even through the commotion going on.

“Hm? Earth you say? I’m from Lucis. I grew up outside of Silius City.” Okay, not entirely a lie. He wasn’t about to openly admit he was a witch either. Or the fact that he didn’t really remember where he grew up because Madam Kitsune kept him isolated, but he was positive that it was somewhere near Silius City. Or atleast he thought so…

(“Don’t even think about it.”)

“Think about what?” Seth turned away from Coza for a second. (“Think about getting attached to anyone.”) In the back of Seth’s mind, Zane was shooting an invisible golf club and imagining that he had made it far enough to cheer. “You think I don’t know that? I know what’s at risk. And you know what, Zane? I’m going to do the one thing you didn’t.” Seth turned back around to face Coza. “Sorry…just checking something.”

Blu put her head in Seth’s lap. She was tired, seeing how early it was. “So…Coza, what are you going to the academy for?” Seth noticed that the girl with Sheep horns was looking at him, but pretended to be busy petting Blu. He also noticed the guy with the strangely familiar face and scar. How had he known him? Did he even know him?

Kemerd walked out the door, but then he stopped in mid-walk, causing his dragon to slam in his leg, which in turn made him whine, obviously hurt and offended that his owner would just stop like that. A small sweat broke out on the young man’s face… How am I supposed to get there… He thought, dropping his bookbag, which with a clang, fell to the ground. Kemerd ran inside, towards his white garbage can, which smelled of pizza.

Kemerd ended up taking the whole thing and dumping it over, and after a few minutes of searching through the rubble of his yesterday’s lunch, he finally found the letter, opening the krinkly piece of paper open…

Greetings, future studen… Press this button to travel.

And with that realization, he pressed the button, almost leaving his blue dragon behind, but luckily it glided over onto his head just in time, landing in his fuzzy hair. “Oh, I forgot to br-” But he was already gone. Next thing he knew, Kemerd was admist a group of people, with a small little dragon atop his head. Kemerd wobbled a bit, until falling over. Note to self: Never teleport with a dragon on your head.

He nods, genuinely interested as he had no clue of what Lucis was like, it’s cities, it’s looks and feels how different it was, he’d always wanted to know more about it, but due to his mother he was housebound most of his life unable to really explore the outside world of Earth, let alone go near Lucis.

“Lucis huh…That’s pretty much exotic to me.” He chuckles softly, and folds his arms again, trying to getting used to standing around. I wonder where this Griffin is…

Coza looks around some more as Seth is distracted, looking back at the women smiling and nodding towards them once as if to just say “Hi.” but without speaking, he felt it would be rude to leave one conversation to join another, turning back to Seth he smiles and thinks. “Hmm, I think the options I chose where, Melee fighting, Healing and ummm…” He pulls out his letter reading through it carefully. “Oh yeah and forging regular weapons.” he said quite happily.

“And yourself?” wondering if they’d be in similar classes.

Seth unraveled his own form and read right off of it even though he doesn’t need to. “Healing, Dark Magic, Forging Magical Weapons, Your Pet and You, and apparently…Archery.” He sighed. When did Zane get a hold of the letter? Probably when Seth had fallen asleep and Zane had gotten through Seth’s mind block. Zane had a problem with doing that…alot.

(“Hey, I heard that!”)

Just then, another person appeared, this one had a dragon on his head. He wobbled for a second and then tipped over. (“Hey…more freaks. I’m feeling less unwelcomed!”)

“Anyone would unwelcome you, Zane.” Seth realized he said that out loud in front of Coza and then corrected himself, “Sorry. I still think I’m yelling at my little brother.”

(“Little?! Forget you!”) Zane swung his golf club again, sending another imaginary ball flying. (“I’m 14 billion years older, pet!”)

OCC: I forgot to mention that it is 6:30 AM in the morning on…September 7th. Year is unknown.

Kemerd got up, picking himself up, and dusting the dirt off of his clothes. Kemerd ran off to whatever class Kemerd should go to, his dragon in arms. Oh man… what class do I go to first? Kemerd thought, forgetting for a moment which class he had to run off to.

OOC: What class do I go to first? Or is it like school, and it depends on who’s in what, picked at random? And if so, what is any one of your classes, because I don’t want to be alone. XD I think you’re in griffin riding, since I read that you were waiting for a griffin…

“Ah, nice choices, we’ll be in a few of the same classes then. I’d imagine you should pass the Archery class with flying colours judging from what I just saw…” He started to get a few flashbacks of his mother teaching him about Archery, bows and how they work, letting out a small sigh, pulling out a pen from his pocket and ticking off the Archery one. “And now Archery for me. It’s in my heritage so I should hopefully enjoy it.” He pulls his hair out of the way, showing him his elven ears, placing them back quickly and smiling.

He turned to face the newcomer, nodding towards him like he did with the girls, smiling softly and turning back towards Seth hearing him speak, raising an eyebrow, reminding him about the “mental thing” he liked to call it.

“So, is that more of your…mental problem, so to speak?” he looks at him, smirking slightly, thinking he’s been caught out.

“Oh yes, that. My home village was in a war, my younger brother and I, Zane is his name. The whole place was burned to the ground, and I sometimes have moments where I think I am at the war. I don’t remember much, sorry.” If there was one thing Seth was good at besides tomes was lying. He had always been a good liar, the only one who could see through it being Madam Kitsune.

(“Nice lying, kid.”) Another invisible golf ball sent flying. Like an average jerk, Zane was more athletic than intelligent. He was apparently very skilled with a bow, apparently. Or so says the elf.

“You’re elven, huh? Yeah, not much of an archer myself. Zane used to be one, so I got his bow and tried it out. Apparently, I’m a natural.” That is such a terrible lie. Seth couldn’t even hold a bow correctly for the life of him. Then again, Seth and Zane can switch at any moment, making it easy for Seth to back up his lies. “I’m actually a scythe user.”

(“I find it ironic that the elf knows how to shoot a bow.”) Zane set his golf club down (invisible one) and picked up an imaginary basketball and began dribbling it. Zane must’ve been really bored. Seth turned away to tell Zane to shut up and faced back to Coza to continue their coversation.

He shakes his head, his eyes saddened. “I…I’m sorry…I should of been more pre-cautious with what I was saying, I apologise.” He sighs, not really sure weather or not to believe him. He gave him the benifit of the doubt and thought to himself. It’d be incredibly harsh not to believe something like that…How could I even think that? “I’m sorry for what happened…”

“Just half elf to be honest, My mother’s side. My dad’s human…as far as I know anyway. My mother was amazing with the bow, or so I’ve been told…as for me, I’ve never actually used one, I just know a little about them…” he says kind of hinting towards his past, he genuinely doesn’t know weather his father is human or not. A little was far to modest. Through his knowledge if he was any good at crafting he could most likely create a bow of such devastating power.

“Scythe’s huh? Must take alot of skill to use one, I can’t imagine me being able to use one after all, I’m a dual blader myself.” he smiles, his mood perking up, hoping he hadn’t upset Seth.

“Oh definitely. Aside from a mace, a scythe is the slowest weapon there is. And don’t worry about it, it doesn’t really bother me as much as it should. I don’t really remember much, plus I don’t remember Zane, just have weird flashbacks.” And, he made the kid upset. Seth really was a good liar, although he could sense some doubt in Coza.

“Anyway, I’ve held you long enough. If you want to get talk to the other classmates, then go ahead.” Seth was petting Blu who still had her head in his lap. He could feel her breathing, she was a loyal partner. More loyal than Zane. But atleast with Zane, Seth can have the most interesting conversations, something he couldn’t do with precarious Blu. Speaking of which, she hadn’t spoken yet…

When will the Griffin get here…? It’s already close to seven…

((OCC: I forgot to mention. Roommates are back. So people, go ahead and choose who you want to stay with. Also, I am STRONGLY encouraging writers to be putting their own storyline, plot twists, adding to the story, etc. I don’t want this to be “here’s the storyline, now use it” I want people to use it to their own! Do funny stunts, plot twist something, most of you will be controlling a Proffessor for your extra classes / etc. I would also like to mention we are waiting for everyone to arrive before we load the Griffin and take off.)

Kemerd didn’t remember anything about classes on his letter, but he should have gotten something. Kemerd wandered around for a bit, the hallways were pretty empty, so he guessed he was probably came earlier than most people did. Draco growled, and was about to walk off to stock something. Get back here, I do have meat you know. Kemerd told his blue dragon. His response was a wag of a tail and an eager head turned around. Draco sent a small signal of hapiness, eagerness, and hunger, while running over to his owner, mouth open. Kemerd dug around in his pocket, and opened a slim jim. Do not feed to animals. It said, in wide letters. Does Draco count? He’s a reptile right… Kemerd thought, pondering the subject for a while until Draco’s whines got too loud, forcing him to toss the meat in the young Dragon’s direction.

Kemerd sent a signal to his dragon, telling him to follow him over towards what he would know to be the front of the school. The young man walked into a beautiful lobby, it looked… royal. He gave a small gasp, letting out all of his amazement. Kemerd then preceded to sit down on a small comfy bench.

OOC: I got teleported to the school somehow, I can’t wait to do some crazy stuff… Thinks about dragons… Well, with a PM of asking approvement of course, before we do anything too crazy.

OOC: I’m happy to partner up with anyone as a room mate. I rally don’t mind, I don’t want to single anyone out now that I think about it as well, that would seem a little harsh, but yeah. I’m open to anyone, I understand why we’re waiting, It’s probably best we do it this way too, let’s everyone get to know one another too. I should probably start thinking up a couple of random story lines, It should be fun to watch them conflict against each other.

“I guess Short-Dual swords are some of the quickest weapons out there. And I’m sorry again for bringing it up…” He said with a slightly more saddened tone, picking himself straight back up again and smiled. “Nah, I’ve enjoyed our conversation, though it is probably best to chat with the other’s get to know them and stuff…” He sighed softly and looked over at them all, blushing very lightly and looks up at him.

“Maybe later…” He says nervously, he often wasn’t very good with starting conversations, unless he made abrupt entrances like he did just before, it kind of gives him something to talk about and eradicates the awkwardness.

It was 6:30 AM and there was a knock on the apartment door that Riku was staying in for a while. Yawning silently, Riku grinned to herself because she finished double checking her luggage and went to answer the door.

“Riku,” a girl’s voice half whispered. “It’s me, Romary.”

After unlocking a series of locks, Riku opened the door and smiled.

“Good morning, Romary.”

Romary was one of Riku’s close friends in the military school. Romary was kind, welcoming but most of all she put their differences aside and treated Riku like any other person. Yuu had gotten along with Romary as well. Stirring and sniffing the air, Yuu padded toward Romary and rubbed up against her leg.

“Want some coffee, Romary?” Riku asked.

“No thanks, but I heard you got an invitation to this special academy?” Romary said quietly, her face saddened with the news of Riku leaving.

After a moment of silence, Riku nodded solemnly.

“In fact, I’ll be leaving shortly. I’m sorry, Romary,” Riku walked towards her small suitcase and held it tight.

“I wanted to see you off,” Romary smiled, eyes shimmering.

Riku reopened the letter on the table and saw the small green button. This was her one way trip towards her future. Riku was determined that she would succeed for the world and the friends that she wanted to protect. Yuu barked softly and curled around Riku.

“Ready?” Yuu asked gruffly.

“Yes,” Riku nodded. “Good bye, Romary.”

Riku pressed the green button and the world went spinning. Before she got to the academy grounds, all she heard was the soft, quiet crying of an innocent girl.

PROLOGUE

The boy walked up to the crystallized pillar and wondered, “So, is this that pillar that he was talking about…?” He put his hand on it. “It feels like it’s almost… breathing…” Pulling his hand off of the structure, he created a ball of light in his palm and then, pushed it into the pillar. It shook and rumbled, and a dragon materialized just in front of the boy.

“So, you’ve come to challenge me, have you?” It spoke. “You must have a death wish.”

“Maybe I do, but at least I’ll stop you from draining the energy from the planet!” The boy said, pulling out his sword that then became engulfed in flames.

The dragon roared and crystals fell from the ceiling. The boy slashed in the direction of the crystals and a shock wave shot out and destroyed them.

“Never turn your back on me!” roared the dragon as he shot out a blast of fire towards the boy.

My dream was interrupted by the sound of vibrating on wood and buzzing. I groaned as I pressed the button in the middle of the alarm clock. Sitting up, I looked over at it to check the time. Why now…? Can’t this clock give me 5 more minutes…? I thought to myself. When I looked at the clock, though… It’s almost seven?! I overslept!

I got up and immediately put on some fancy-like clothes. Kial woke up from all the commotion, seeming excited. He knew this was the day I go to the school. I began preparing some breakfast, and ate it all quickly.

My name is Tamashi, and I’m a mage. Any electric items that I have are powered by my magic, the alarm clock being a perfect example of that. I’m living with a wolf and his family, as much as that sounds stupid. Kial and his family is really the only friends I have… I have no real home, so I sleep with these wolves in a cave. Sure, call me a caveman all you want, it’s actually quite nice in this forest.

I pet some of the cubs who seemed sad that I was leaving. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back.” I said to them. All of the wolves seemed to understand me. I grabbed my already packed bag and walked to the end of the cave. Kial was following me, whimpering a little. I turned to him and told him, “I know, I know… I’ll come back to you guys unharmed, okay?”

I gave him a petting and continued on. I could hear his footsteps and whimpering and I looked back at him again. “No, you can’t come with me. Stay here with your family.” I looked into his eyes and read his emotions. He was obviously saying “Your a part of my family to.” I think he was also saying “You can’t handle the world on your own.”

I eventually gave up. I pointed to the female wolf and cubs. “They won’t mind?” He shook his head. I sighed and said, “Fine, you can come.” His whimpering turned into panting happily, quickly.

I walked to just outside of the cave and opened a small portal. I knew just where the school was, so I could open a portal to it. I looked over to the mother and wolf cubs and waved to them. Me and Kial both then entered the portal to this new place.

[OOC: Finally, I’ve started myself up! Also, I’d like to point out that you misspelled my name in the Cast List. You put “Kiba” Not trying to be rude or anything, just trying to correct an error.]
