Academy Of The Arcane Artes [Roleplay]

Engeli stared at her, seeing as she mumbled something under her breath. She couldn’t hear it, but she didn’t have the best hearing anyway. She noticed the boy in the background and stared at him. He was sitting so very still… Almost as he was asleep. She turned back and her smile faded into her ‘normal’ face. Really, no expression.

“Okay, Enge, I’m Remii, but most people call me Sheepire-” she heard the girl say, but she didn’t really understand what she meant. Vampire? Sheep? Sheepire. They had to be kidding, her eyes were blue-ish green. Not red as the books said; Dracula had red eyes, didn’t he? She opened her mouth, trying to figure out what to say without being rude.

“Sheepire? What does that mean?” she said with curiosity. Right at that moment she remembered, Remii would be probably curious to know what she meant about isolated. She blinked rapidly a couple times. Stroking her hair she listened intently, even if the girl changed the subject or anything else. “Oh, and, what did you want?” she smiled a bit, not use to a lot of this. She was probably being quite awkward.

She barely even noticed the Elven and the boy talking next to her.

OoC: I’m new to forum roleplays, just to let you know.

Azuma slept in his old, abandoned house. Ever since his parents died, everything lost its shine and beauty to Azuma. He was very cautious when around others, and always thought the worst of them. His eyes flickered open as he heard a clank in his mailbox. " Huh? " he muttered, as he got up, and put on his jacket with gold strings attaching all over it. He headed outside, and looked into the mailbox. " Who’d send a letter to me? " he wondered out loud as he opened it. " A magic school? " he said, showing happiness for a second. " Maybe I should attend, I’ve always been interested in magic, and I’ve never gone to school before… ". He then put the letter down as he went upstairs and grabbed a suitcase he had found a few months back, and started packing. He had barely anything, and the only things inside was a portrait of his mother and father, in a peaceful area during that sickening war, and a magical staff that didn’t look all that ‘magical’. He then wondered how to get there, as there was no directions. " Maybe this button? " he said, slightly excited. He poked it, and got enveloped in light. The next thing he knew, he was at a griffin port.

CHAPTER I: New life

We were flying through a vortex, with nothing but light all around us and the feel of wind. We were truly traveling quickly. I flew around care-free like. “I wonder what this place is like? What does a place like this have? Is it full of people? Oh, I’m just full of questions!” I said excitedly.

Kial was floating around, not used to the whole ‘flying through space’ feel. I chuckled a little, watching him float around, a little panicked. We got closer to the light at the end of this cave of seemingly nothing.

When we got out, we fell to the floor and looked around, dazed a little. Our eyes adjusted to the light and we saw that we were in a port like area. Or was it a type of train station? We weren’t too sure, but we knew that there were a lot of people, all seeming to wait for something.

Me and Kial both felt strange, but that was because we weren’t used to being around so many people. Living in a cave for a long time really doesn’t help with getting used to being around people, you know. Me and Kial both moved closer to each other. I petted him while saying, “Alright… Let’s talk to some one, okay? It never hurts to get a new friend, right?” I sounded calm, but really, I was a bit scared.

Maybe I was scared because I was worried that if I befriended some one, they might pay the ultimate price, like my old friend did? Maybe… but I could feel something about everyone here. Were they like me in some way? I couldn’t place my finger on it, but I felt I could trust some of these people.

I walked up to a girl and tugged at her arm. “Um… excuse me? Ma’am? Where am I?” I asked.

[OOC: The girl is Remii. I didn’t say her name in the RP because I’m doing this in Tamashi’s point of view, so he doesn’t yet know her name.]

“Too shy, huh?” Seth tried continuing his coversation with Coza when out of nowhere, a golden ball begins falling out of the sky from above. From behind the dimly lit sun, a large bird opens it’s wings as it slowly lowers itself closer to the ground to welcome aboard the new students.

As it lands close to the sign (careful not to run into Sheepire and Enge), it opens it’s bird - like wings. The whole bird is massive, the size of a dinosaur. It has a beautiful plummage of golden feathers that stretches from head to tail. The bird has the head of a bird, with a long beak, the feet of a chicken, and oddly, the tails of a lion. The bird lowers its back to welcome the newest bunch of students.

“I guess our ride is here now. Nice meeting you, Coza. Maybe I’ll see you around.” Seth stood up and stretched, Blu yawning loudly as she examines the bird from a distant. “It was nice to be in your company.” Blu speaks lowly in her telepathic, echoing voice so that only Coza and Seth can hear her. Her and Seth make their way towards the Griffin. The only problem? Zane’s targets are in the way.

(“Please?”) Zane is back to sitting down, stretching his legs. Probably preparing for an imaginary hundred mile dash or something. Zane was an odd one, but Seth would be bored inside someone’s head too. At least Zane was a real companion and not some fake alternate personality.

“Absolutely not.” He replies and Blu meows lowly in reply. As Seth nears the bird, he has his bag in one hand and examines the bird from up close. It has something tied around it’s neck, like a circular box with a dug out hole in it that would hold the students luggage.

(“It’s not too late to turn back.”)

“I’m going to do something you couldn’t, Zane. Get over it. You and your ego issues…” Seth began but to his surprise, Zane broke the Mind Block between him and Seth taking control for a brief second and trips Seth as he topples over on his face near the girls that Zane held his bow to early.

As Enge asked what the name ‘Sheepire’ meant, Remii simply shrugged. “I’ll… um… tell you another day, okay?,” she said. There was only a bit of sadness in her close to monotone voice when she answered. Whenever someone said Sheepire, it brought back memories. Not sad memories, but close to happy ones.

Her father had made the name seem more like a carefree nickname rather than a bullying name. It was almost as if Sheepire was her actual name rather than Remii. He called her it, knowing her bad history with the name. However, his calm and charming voice just made the word roll of his tongue as if it never had a bad history, as if she had just imagined her bullying. Her father was her best friend, her companion…

She missed him dearly, but simply sighed softly. Remii was soon snapped back to reality when she realized someone was touching her arm. She turned around quickly and widened her eyes in surprise. “Oh… Um, I think this is the griffin spot for the school,” she said slowly, still thinking of her father a bit. She turned away from the boy, and back to the ground in front of her.

Right after she answered, she noticed a shadow in the sky. “W-woah,” she stammered with a step back. The griffin looked so… beautiful. Her eyes sparkled just slightly in the sun as she studied the griffin. It was simply magnificent. The glow of its feathers from the sun was just… astonishing.

Remii was quickly brought back to reality when she noticed Seth coming their way. She began to wave to him, but noticed he tripped over… air? The sheepire didn’t see anything that he could trip over, but she guessed it didn’t matter. She took a few steps towards him and held her hand out for him. “Do you need any help…?,” she asked as she stood their, offering her hand to him still.

“Oh jeez…” Seth realized what was going on. He realized that Zane had tripped him even though it looked like air. The next thing he knew he was on the ground his bag beside him and the sheep girl offering to help him. Why on earth would she help him after what appeared that he held a bow to her? That just felt strange accepting her help.

He stood up on his own perfectly fine, his cloak dropping back over his face. “No, I’m good. Thanks for offering…uhm…Miss.” He could see Zane’s smirking face in the back of his mind. Zane was an abusive partner, but Seth can be too! He visualized a fist punching Zane, and what do you know? In the next few seconds he heard Zane yelling at him.

Blu covered her face with her paws like she was embarrassed to hiding. He picked up his bag that Zane made him drop. “Uh…yeah…I guess I should get on the Griffin now. Sorry for the whole bow thing…”

Azuma looked around, disappointed with all the people. " Well, there seems to be other races, not jut humans. " he sighed, it being slightly grateful.

As the griffin came down, he looked at it with astonishment, but didn’t say anything. " Hopefully, I won’t get attacked here like 7 years ago…" he whispered to himself, making him look like a freak.

His clothing did stand out, making him feel watched with mocking gazes. " Sheesh, I hope I get new clothes soon. "

OOC: Sorry for the short post, I just didn’t really know what else to type.

“Eh, Okay,” she mumbled barely so she could hear. They both had something about them they don’t want to share. Engeli wondered what she meant, maybe it means nothing… But, why would she hide it? Engeli understood not everyone’s past is perfect. Defiantly her’s wasn’t, she should respect Remii, right? She noticed more and more people coming… She wondered what their abilities were. She had no nerve to ask, plus they might not see each other again. Maybe Remi and her would see eachother…

But, she spied her twin pistols. Of course. She met someone finally like her, and they aren’t even alike. They probably wouldn’t see each other. Maybe they’d be roommates? Did the academy even have dorms

The griffin came, after it seemed to be an hour. It was a majestic bird with large wings. Just as it was in the myths, those silly myths she thought were fake. They were all real. Maybe she could figure out what she was? What had ram horns and hooves… She couldn’t believe they were all real—

And then, someone fell. It was the boy who tried to shoot her, or possible kill her. There was nothing around to trip him. Maybe he was just clumsy? She didn’t really see anything, so she couldn’t tell. She didn’t want to help him, but Remi did for some reason. Engeli held grudges for too long. Even to her sister. Her precious, beautiful sister. Angelica. She didn’t stop thinking, surveying her life. All the little mistakes. She forgot for another second, and wondered why Remi would help such a… strange man. But she shouldn’t be talking, should she? She was weird too. He just had a mental problem.

After he rejected her hand, Engeli started up the Griffin. “Come on you guys,” she bellowed to all of them.

With a loud snort and a heavy gasp, Isaac was awakened by the gusts of wind from the griffon. Suddenly jerking his sword from the ground, it was sent into the air just as Isaac cried out in pain. Immediately he reached to rub his eyes, only to recoil yet again as he violently shoved his gauntlets into his eyes.

“My eyes!” Isaac cried, unable to do anything about the debris that flew into them. He bowled around the nearby area, blind with panic and dirt. Tripping over his bag soon after, Isaac fell onto his back where he rolled about whining about his burning eyes. The sword launched into the air fell toward his prone body, hurtling through the air with enough speed to pierce his armor.

His blade slid clean back into its sheathe where it belonged, causing Isaac to suddenly stop. His eyes were filled with fear and his body trembled with the realization of what just happened. Isaac jumped onto his feet shortly after, dusting himself off and regained his posture, but the damage was done. Everyone saw his little scene.

Isaac put on a poker face, grabbed his bag and climbed onto the griffon without a word or making eye contact with anyone.

Chris sighed, having apparently been ignored by the group. “Well… If that’s how they want to play, so be it…” he said to himself. He put his helmet back on, and stood there silently. He got bored, but he decided that it wasn’t really anything to complain about.

He watched as the boy with the scar made his display. Chris was about to do something, but it was over almost as soon as it started. "Huh... He's... So familiar..."

He admired the gryphon as it landed. The plumage was beautiful, and the beak and talons were razor sharp. He walked over to the beast and mounted it gently. He sat down, and positioned the spear on his back so that it wouldn't dig into the gryphon's back. He sighed once more. "Pretty sure I packed a book in here somewhere," he thought. After rummaging through one of his bags for a moment, he found it; a journal of an old warrior. He opened up the book, and started to read the handwritten script.

As the person rolled around when he accidently got dirt into his eyes, he rolled onto his foot, jabbing it and making him fall over. " Gah! " he yelped, as he clambered into the ground. He got up with stones in his mouth and a bleeding nose.

" Thanks. " he growled as he covered his nose with his hand, and spat out the stones. Now, he looked funky and was battered up. "Everything is going my way today. " he muttered sarcasticly, his hand now soaked with blood.

He tried to walk further back, but he stumbled from his foot being crunched from the armor, and stumbled into a sheep like person.

OOC: If it wasn’t obvious enough, it is Remii he stumbled into.

“… Right,” Remii said under her breathe as he rejected her hand. Her cheeks turned slightly rosy pink as he thanked her for offering to help him. She stood still as he apologized for the bow incident.

“I-it’s fine! And… um… I’m Remii. Remii Kuran,” she said suddenly before feeling someone stumble into her “S-sorry,” she said quickly before running onto the griffin, her bag in hand, and Shear following closely after her. Remii sat next to Enge, and Shear sat next to Remii. “Um,” she started to say as she looked to Engeli. “Have you ever rode on a griffin before…? This doesn’t feel very safe,” she said in a half joking manner.

“Oh! And, I’m kind of curious… What weapon do you use?,” she said with a tilt of her head before adding, “I use my pistols, Artemis and Diana. They’re family heirlooms,” she said with a smile. She hadn’t really been the best person at making conversation, but she really wanted to at least try to make new friends.

Seth coughed when the one guy knocked up some dust. He had laughed too, but kept that much to himself. Remii and her ram friend had ran off onto the Griffin. Seth had to be going, too. Blu was getting anxious and she had gotten some dirt in her eyes.

(“Come on. Quit delaying.”)

“That guy…Zane, isn’t he familiar?” He kept looking at the guy who had freaked out then got onto the Griffin. He looked so familiar…but from where. (“How am I supposed to know?”)

“You’re in my head aren’t you? Access my memory database and take a look. In the meantime…” He looked down to Blu who was whimpering beside him as she hacked some dirt and made a dash towards the Griffin. Seth followed her with his one bag in hand. Zane was meditating taking a look for him. Atleast Zane had some value…

(“OWW!”)

“What did you just do? That scream was awfully loud…” Seth felt a smile creeping around his face. He knew EXACTLY what Zane had just did. It was obvious. Large bird sitting right in front of them…he was going to be abusive and try something. (“I tried to kick it…your Mind Block recoiled it onto me…Gah!”)

“Hey Zane.” Seth threw his bag into the small spot for bags around the Griffin’s neck. “When you tried to shoot Remii and the other girl. I noticed something. You called them ladies. I thought you had no manners?”

(“I don’t. I - I did not call them ladies.”)

“Pretty sure you did.” Seth climbed up onto the Griffin, Blu following up beside him. He took a seat behind Remii, from a distance that was. Same with the other guy, he didn’t trust him either. “Aww, are you blushing?”

(“Absolutely not. It’s just something I remembered is all.”)

“Remembered?” Seth winced for a second, but it went away after that. He was wondering if Zane could keep him bound much longer…

(“It’s that girl…she did it.”) What girl? He never mentioned a girl before…Oh well. He could try to ask him, but Zane wouldn’t reply. Instead he would remain focused on trying to get some of the dirt out of Blu’s eyes.

(OoC: Just saying, I switched weapons + I’m an assassin now. So durp)

Engeli looked at the bird. It was beautiful, and she couldn’t stop staring at it. Remi sat down next to her, she didn’t even notice her climb on the bird with her black sheep. She couldn’t believe they existed at all, it was eye boggling. It was all real… Then Remii replied, “Have you ever rode a Griffin before?”

“Rode one…?” she looked at her, laughing a bit. “I didn’t even know they existed!” she always had superstition, since she is half ram after all. She wondered if she’d see minotaurs, unicorns, and everything else. She was excited to get there now. She couldn’t stop thinking about it.

She looked at Remii, noticing she was somewhat awkward. “Weapon?”

“I don’t really use weapons, I fight. I usually use kicking and such. If needed, a dagger,” She looked at Remii’s pistols. Complete opposites. Melee to ranged. Defiantly no classes together…

They could make a good team though, if Remii wanted to.

She blurted out, “Hey, if there’s missions, or teams… Would you want to be on teams?” she tried to recover from her blurt, “I mean. You’re ranged and I’m melee. They work together…,” she stared at her, waiting for a reply.

In a flash of shining light and a moment of dizziness, Riku found herself at Griffon Port. Shocked, Riku stumbled in surprise and fell flat on her face.

“You ok?” Yuu asked, trying to hide his laughter.

“Eh . . . Yeah. Dang. There’s a scratch on my glasses now,” Riku sighed as she fixed herself and brushed off the dust off of her jacket. Grabbing her suitcase, she trotted off towards a crowd of others who looked like students who were preparing to fly off on the Griffons. Waving towards them in a friendly gesture, Riku walked toward a Griffon herself. Grabbing her luggage, Yuu leaped on and Riku shortly followed.

" Gah, sorry. " he said as Remii ran onto the Griffin, thinking he scared her. When he got his balance correct he got onto the griffin, sitting away from everyone else, keeping no eye contact from anyone as blood dripped onto his jacket.

" I’m such a fool to have come here. " he thought, regretting he came. " Well, it looks like a lot of people already had bad luck, I hope it doesn’t stick around. " he kept thinking.

He stood there and looked to the floor, yawning slightly, lifting his head slowly up. “Yeah, a little shy I guess…” He seemed a little disapointed in himself and decided to brave his shyness and walk over to the crowds, before he managed to get close enough for a conversation, a huge gust of wind shot down then pushed outwards.

Coza turned to face the violent winds and took the gust head on, his jacket and scarf swishing back and forth at a rapid pace behind him.

He blinked, by the time he re opened his tired eyes, A large flame orange animal stood right before him, Coza stared at the animal from head to tail, smirking to himself. “Niiice.” he said to himself excitably, watching the two men jump atop the Griffon.

He turned back to face the rest of the crowds, smiling sweetly. “Anyone need a hand?” he asks kindly, hoping to atleast spark a conversation or allow him to be helpfull to someone.(Ignore this if there’s no one left but myself hahah.)

OOC: Oh Snap! It’s 10:31 PM! I Better type this up rather quickly, while it still being a Smashing Post.

Tyler would wake up at 5:00 AM, as always to check the male. "Bills, Bills, Free coupons, Bills, Bills, Free Haircut? Cool. Bills, What's this?" He said Finding a rather peculiar looking Parchment inside an envelope, with a weird button inside. He read through it, thinking "So Only the most intelligent Adolescents arrive here." He quickly ran upstairs and Packed, making sure had all the things he needed. His Lab coat, His tie, his shoes, and his Pants. He then, grabbed his hunting bag by the door, sliding a Bow with a quiver inside. Lastly, he woke up Wheatley, his pet. "ARGH!" Wheatley said. "Sorry old Pal, But we have to go." I responded. "To Where?" He responded. But I hushed him as I quickly scarfed down breakfast, ran upstairs, held all my stuff at once, plus Wheatley. And Pressed, the peculiar Button.

He then Arrived around 6:50 or something. he saw several students gathered around here at the Griffin Stop. He Quickly Said in his British accent. “My name, is Tyler Dixon, And this is my Robot Companion, Wheatley.” He said, as he quickly moved beside to someone they seemed to call, Seth.

Emilia woke up. Hello world.
That morning. Yup, the morning, something Emilia expected since she went to sleep. First time in the Academy… Sounds great to her.
She got off bed, and flapped her wings.
A servant of the mansion came in and prepared Emilia’s clothes. “I command you to wait. I must take a bath.”, said Emilia with a powerful look on her face. She went to her suite and took a relaxing morning bath. "Gretel, come help me now!", she said, after leaving the bath tub and going back to her room. While the servant was helping Emilia, she asked, “Did you prepare my stuff?”. “Yes, ma’am.”, said the servant, nodding.
Emi left her room and went downstairs to the dining room. “Good morning, mother and father.”, she said, while going to her seat and taking a slice of chocolate cake and a cup of apple and cinnamon tea. “Good morning, new student of the Academy Of The Arcane Artes!”, said her mom, who is sitting at an edge of the long table, with a smile on her face. Emi smiled too.
Good morning, Emilia. I hope that today you begin a life of having your own responsabilities. This will help you grow up.”, said her father in a serious way.
I will father. I promise to you.”, replied Emilia.
After eating breakfast, Emilia went to ask the butler if her registration card’s response had arrived. He nodded.
She excitelly asked for him to hand her the card. So, he really did.
Emi ran upstairs with the card and closed the door. She grabbed her bags and pressed the green button in the card. In no time she’d be at her new school.
Here I am!”, she said, reliefed.
She took a look at the school building, “Mhm! Just like they said!”, she said happilly.
Emi walked, towards the school, grabbing her bags.

“… A team?” Remii repeated after Enge finished speaking. She hadn’t even thought that far ahead yet, she hadn’t even thought of what her classes would be like for that matter. “Well… You have a fair point,” Remii said after a few seconds of thinking.

She looked to Shear and the sheep simply said, “Baaah~” Remii then looked back to Engeli and nodded curtly. “I… accept. It’d probably be best if we teamed up for missions and such,” she said with a warm smile, “It’d mean we can get to know each other better, especially since we probably won’t be in the same classes.”

Remii looked around a bit, rubbing the griffin’s feathers unintentionally as she observed her surroundings. Out the corner of her eye, she could see Seth behind her. She raised her hand to wave to him, but stopped herself. It would feel kind of weird to continue to say hi to him considering she already formed a somewhat awkward relationship with him concerning the arrow thing, but that should be long behind them by now.

“… It’s not that many people,” she said silently to herself after finishing her scan of the people on the griffin. She had expected a thousand or so people, but there really wasn’t that many. She sighed in relief and closed her eyes slowly.

The sun had tired her out, but she didn’t want to sleep on the griffin ride. It seemed like too much of a great opportunity to pass up just because of a little sun. Her eyes were just a tad bit closed.

“So… um, Enge,” she started softly, sounding tired, “If we have roommates… Would you like to be mine? I don’t really want some random girl, and I feel that we could be great friends,” she explained in the same, tired voice, only she tried to sound a bit more pepped up.
