Man oh man, do I miss these. These were the craziest thing back in the old days of PMU 6. Now, I know there isn’t as much staff on hand to do these and there isn’t the same crazy amount of items like there was in PMU 6, but they should really make a comeback! We have an auction house and everything, and I don’t personally recall any auctions happening in PMU 7.
It’d be a great way to sell some of the harder to get items, like Exp. Shares, Miracle Chests and the like.
There was actually a time where we had auctions in PMU7 but that was when Andy was around it kinda messed up the economy a bit. I’m not sure if we will see them anytime soon. That’s up to the current staff team.
Most players who actually get the winning bid spent most of their money and this was happening nearly every week. Auctions every now and then is fine but having them every single week was a bad idea.
Auctions, good times…
But yeah, as Hax said, it does screw up the economy a bit, despite me liking auctions. I wouldn’t mind to see them every once in awhile, but having them frequently would be pretty extreme.
Of course, I’m not saying that we shouldn’t have auctions, because I have no reason why we shouldn’t, but again, as Hax said it’s up to the staff.
This also could be me, but they might not be auctions anymore because staff would prefer people to get items by themselves and not buy their way through it. But obviously I can’t confirm that. xD;
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t that be helpful for the “economy”, though?
Last time I heard, we had a serious inflation problem (lookin’ at your hoard, nux). Besides Guilds, we don’t exactly have a regular, reliable Poke-sink. The same people shouldn’t be consistently buying out anyway. Wouldn’t weekly auctions be beneficial?
I agree on the Poke-sink. I have a crazy amount of Poke sitting around, and until I can buy a guild or join one, it’s not going anywhere. I want to be able to spend it on something that isn’t replacement gear or my one King’s Rock and I bought.
It’s a little tipsy; auctions tend to be inhabited by very wealthy players, such that even those who are intermediately experienced will probably lack the glorious amount of Poke that is almost guaranteed to rise way above their limit. Then again, auctions are usually the “I’ve Been Here For a While, I Know This Stuff” kind of happenings, so it is probably naturally expected that the more wealthy (and almost always more experienced) players will attend. Following that, it just might be a very serious way to drain yourself of all that 90m Poke you may or may not have.
