What about a timed battle-royale mini-game where you could gain EXP from the enemies you defeat, in a Monster House type situation?
You’d start with maybe 20 Pokemon of a similar level to you, randomly scattered about a medium-sized room. The rules would be as follows:
- Enemy Pokemon would continuously respawn as they are defeated, to keep up the challenge.
- The game ends when 3 minutes have passed, you run out of PP, or are KOed.
- You may only have one Pokemon on your team.
- You may only bring 3 items with you into the Battle Royale.
If you win (that is, survive the full 3 minutes), you win an amount of Poke equal to the amount of EXP you earned during the battle. If you do not win, you don’t lose any items you didn’t use, and any money you may have earned while using Payday (if using a Persian, Purrloin or Liepard). However, you will not get the survival bonus.
Tell me what you think.
An easy way to make money during a time when the staff are trying to steer the economy toward inflation. I like the idea of a survival-type mini-game but not the reward system. For players with higher level Pokemon, they will make much more money than a starting player. It would also be more difficult for players with lower-level Pokemon as stats are lower and Pokemon take more hits to take down.
If this was to be implemented as a mini-game, I think it should be set level, so the difficulty will only vary based on Pokemon used, and not give experience or monetary rewards, as no other mini-games do this and it would be unfair to new players due to unfair experience distribution (and as a result, unfair monetary distribution).
On the topic of rewards, they should be non-monetary so they will not further harm the economy. Ideas of this would be Revival items, higher end supplies (Max Ethers, Big Apples), and other necessities that new players can not get immediately. This will give them a reason to complete the mini-game. For end-game players, there should be a leader board that would show players who have run the gauntlet the most, eliminated the most Pokemon, etc,. This would be good for end-game players where they can actually “win” instead of continuous grinding. It could be reset weekly or monthly to prevent experienced players from shoring up #1 positions. This will also help to bring competition into the PvE field of PMU.
I have another idea for the battle royale system:
Use more of an “endurance” setup:
- Each round will consist of you facing 20 Pokemon set to the same level as you.
- Area-of-effect attacks will be disabled (except for 3x3 attacks).
- You are only allowed to have one Pokemon on your team.
- You are allowed to bring up to 3 items into the Battle Royale.
- Each wave of 20 Pokemon you defeat will earn you one Battle Point.
- You will not earn EXP for any Pokemon you defeat.
- The game will end when either you run out of PP or are KOed.
Battle Points would be able to be cashed in for Event-Token prizes at the rate of 100 Battle Points per Event Token.
In addition, there would be a Battle Royale for each Pokemon type. A Battle Royale would be considered “completed” if you defeat at least 10 waves. Completing all 18 Battle Royales would net you a special prize. If you were to complete them at level 100, you’d win an even more valuable prize. And, the piece de resistance: if you completed all 18 Battle Royales at level 100, with the SAME Pokemon…you’d receive a Tight Belt (THE rarest item in the game).
