Beanbag to press buttons

Beanbags you can buy from kec shops / other merchants that you can “use” and they drop in world. They activate buttons theyre placed on top of. this would let you do stuff like archford training dojo (uhh they would need to spawn in there though huh… maybe just take the buttons out of atd sdlkklsdg) without needing an escort.

They could look like bad pokemon dolls and could occasionally attract attacks from wild pokemon, making them usable as a temporary diversion. In this case, there could be multiple tiers of beanbag each with a different amount of hp. I have drawn the beanbags but I cannot attach images to my posts.

They may also be cute to sleep next to at spawn for the spawn afk folks.

( concept drawing by op they wanted someone to post It since they couldn’t )

I don’t really think its woth implementing such an item, since there are only 2 dungeons (Archford dojo and Harmonic Towor) where it would be of use (and you can also include west seafloor ruins). Being able to disregard the switches would defeat the point of having multiplayer exclusive dungeons, and in return, only help on geting 3 pokemon (bagon, passimian and oranguru) and the HT music items.

There could aslo be problems around how they take damage, since for that i imagine they would have to spawn as npc who get targeted by enemies. If so, how many can you place without afecting enemy spawning? Can the game tell how many of the npcs in a floor are beanbas to limit their placement? Can you get them back without defeating them, or at all? If they drop a beanbag item to respawn them, what prevents you from using thieve/covet on them? And would they despawn if you log out?

Also I can see the execution being quite tedious if the buttons happened to spawn far away from each other and enemy pokemon keep defeating your beanbags while you go to the other buttons (specialy in HT).

There are also the switches that open the way for a short time (such as the 3 in SpTh floor 40 restpoint). They would have to be reworked to open the path forward indefinetively.

Sorry if this comes as negative, but the concept has a good amount of flaws, and in my opinion there arent that many thing locked behind buttons to be an issue that needs a work arround.

i am Iooving this idea so much!!! first of aII, it’s so cute.

second and more importantIy the accessibility aspect of this is great. there is a smaII but not insiginificant portion of our pIayerbase that is very team averse. this wiII grant them access to dungeons without removing any team aspects of it. it’d be Iike a smaII price to pay to be a soIo pIayer.

we can even aIso retrofit the existing doIIs we aIready have to have this functionaIity.

that being said, i agree with aijfer that it probabIy isn’t worth the effort to impIement? at Ieast right now? cause we do onIy have the two dungeons.

i’d actuaIIy Iove to see more dungeons utiIize this aspect, but i think a Iot of pIayers wouId honestIy hate that.

As for ajifer’s other technicaI points, i don’t reaIIy see those as deaIbreakers, certainIy stuff we’d need think about though for sure.

how many can you pIace without affecting human spawning? weII the way round described it, it wouId probs spawn as an npc entity itseIf. probabIy starting to Iimit enemy spawns as soon as you pIace one.

“what prevents you from using thieve/covet on them? And would they despawn if you log out?”
definiteIy game breaking. you couId spawn muItipIe npcs with just the one beanbag if it were thievabIe. they’d aIso despawn when u Iog out.

easy. make it one time use :O
pokedoIIs are one time use in nintendo games

the switches in spthicket don’t concern me. that IikeIy takes Iess than 30 mins of handiwork
