Bug: Extended Water Gun

Summary of Bug:
What you were doing at the time: I was being escorted to get a Shiny Wynaut in Exbel, Holiday Hills, Everdread Hollow, Gravewhisper Woods, B1F.
Where you were in the game/menus: I was trying to kill an Ekans with my Azumarill using Water Gun, 2-3 tiles away from Wynaut* AKA out of its range.
What happened: The game killed Ekans and Wynaut*, even though Wynaut was far away from my Azumarill’s Water Gun. I lost the Shiny Wynaut, sadly.

OS/Version:
Windows 10, 32x bits.
Expected Result:
Only Ekans would be hit by Water Gun
Actual Result:
Both Ekans and the far away Wynaut* were hit.
Steps to reproduce:
I don’t know.

I really would like a compensational Wynaut too XD

Just to clear up, it wasn’t desync too. I refreshed beforehand.

There is a type of Desync that doesn’t fix even after you refresh. This desync happens to the wild poke instead of yourself when weather is presence which makes pokemon appears elsewhere instead of where they actually stand at.

the other case is that pokemon have desync movement which they could jump between tiles and accidentally got into your line of fire with a single step.

This I 100% experience regularly. The jumping a fair amount as well, but I used to not understand what was going on when I’d refresh and then immediately click on the place I see a pokemon and still not get any info on it. And then click like two tiles to the left of it and see the full recruit stats for a chingling or somethin. I think clicking on the space you see a pokemon is the most sure fire way of making sure you’re hitting right since at least in desync they stay the same amount of spaces away from their sprite as they move.

Sadly, I don’t think this can be helped.

It sucks, but this does happen. To avoid this from happening in the future, I’d advise to be very careful around shinies. Usually its best to avoid using piercing moves just so you don’t kill the shiny on accident. If you can’t do that, I would recommend trying to lure the shiny away from crowds/other NPCs if possible.

But, yeah, I think nothing can be done about this. ):

Unfortunately that is the case, desync is a difficult thing to deal with (even if you do refresh, sometimes things can still be out of whack). Others have put up some solid recommendations on how to avoid problems in the future (using non-piercing moves/basic attacks, luring the shiny away from groups, clicking the Pokemon’s location on your screen, etc). Can’t really do anything for this either in terms of compensation.
