Hello everyone,
We wanted to make a public announcement to clarify policy regarding certain bugs with shinies. In particular, we wanted to inform the players that they can receive compensation for shinies lost to Monster House and item despawns, provided sufficient proof is given. We feel, given that these occurrences are a fault of current game mechanics rather than the player, that punishing players for these occurrences is simply unfair to them.
That said, investigating these situations on our end may sometimes take extended periods of time, and thus we still recommend taking mitigating measures to prevent these situations when possible.
So what constitutes sufficient proof?
- Clear evidence that shows the glitch happening - either by having the actual despawn recorded on film or with multiple screenshots that can be used to establish clear temporality.
- In particular, having clear evidence the shiny was not simply killed is key. If you can show this through some other method that is able to demonstrate the shiny disappearing without actions in between, that is acceptable.
If you have any questions about this policy, please feel free to contact any staff member or reply to this thread.
