Daily NPC Event

Oh no, I’m suggesting Daily Events! Everyone run!

I had this idea and I wanted to share it with you guys. A daily NPC event that gives out an Event Token for helping them!

Each day, an NPC will be wandering around Grassroot Town requesting certain types of berries. Below are my ideas about which berry goes where:

Monday - An NPC found their spouse over-paralyzed from a surprise attack and found that they would need 3 Cheri Berries to help them out.
Tuesday - An NPC is overworked and needs 3 Chesto Berries to keep them awake for work.
Wednesday - An NPC feels worried about their child that won’t take any Pecha Berries, so they needs 3 Pecha Berries to make a cake for their child.
Thursday - An NPC needs to help out three Pokémon with their burns, so they need 3 Rawst Berries to help out.
Friday - An NPC is planning to go out towards Winden, but they want to make sure they don’t get frozen, so they request 3 Aspear Berries.
Saturday - An NPC cannot get energized, so they ask for 3 Oran Berries to help them out.
Sunday - A greedy NPC will sell you the first Event Token for 1,000 Poké. If you want to buy any further tokens from this NPC, you will have to buy them for 100,000 Poké.

To make sure that rare items are excessive, we could have the Event Shop prices double because of these daily events. And the Sunday NPC will allow rich players to buy things that are useful. It wouldn’t be too difficult to program (at least, I don’t think it would be), so I think this could be a good way to give players, both old and new, to obtain Tokens if they are unable to participate in Weekly Events.

It’s just an idea though. Feel free to put your own thoughts about this, whether negative or positive.

I mostly skimmed through cause I can’t read atm but it sounds like a good idea and it would help the econemy from inflation since one of the NPCs seems to be a sink.

I love your idea Shadow! This gives everyone an equal opportunity to receive event tokens, and it’ll give us a reason to start collecting berries! My only problem is how this might affect the participation rate in weekly events. Other than that, I really believe we can make this work!

Well, this IS certainly much better than missing out on weekly events all the time. (not to mention I have to sleep earlier next month xD) I like it!

To expand on this idea. NPC’s can also appear in other towns as well as dungeon enterances and that instead of bringing them the berries, It’s basically keep away.
[answer]The NPC is located in it"s location, wherever that maybe. The first player to gets it recieves the npc as an escort. While you have the npc, your location is revealed to all the other players. If you get hit by a single move, excluding AOEs, you lose the NPC and it goes to the one who attacks you. First player to get the NPC to their house, is the winner.
RESTRICTIONS
The following all causes you to lose the NPC:

Logging Off/Crashing
Giving Up as a shortcut for an instant win
Entering A Dungeon
No Movement Activity/AFK
No Speed Boost
1 Pokemon per player
SET LEVEL for everyone
Everyone knows only 1 move from Sprays[/ul]
PRIZES

[ul]Delivery NPC: 10 Tokens
Delivered within 10 Mins: 5
Held on to NPC for longest amount of time: 5
Took NPC the most: 5
Most Steps with NPC: 5
Trying but not had any success/Kept failing over and over: 1

To make the prizes fair, the same player cannot recieve 2+ prizes, only 1 prize[/answer]

That would be a bit more complicated to program since restrictions would be difficult to program (especially with AoE moves not hitting other players as well as programming how players would even participate in the event). This also sounds like it would start at a certain time. I was trying to think of an idea that wouldn’t have a timed schedule that it starts at and a way that non-competitive players wouldn’t feel pressured to participate in a high-strung event.

Still, this is a pretty neat idea, though the event token pay-out might be a bit too much for a Daily Event (unless you want to have Globes worth 200 Event Tokens). It’s at least something to discuss in your own “Suggestions” thread.

And I think it"d give berries more use, though the prices for them in NPC shops might sky rocket (maybe anyway?) Either way, I think it"d be worth a try.

Sure, let’s devalue the lot of hard-earned tokens that many players have.

That… would have a lot of serious issues, for example, displacement moves for moving/evading and stat buffs for infinite camping.

I knew there was someone that suggested this before me! It’s true that Token distribution has increased immensely since previous times (since you would have to win to get tokens as opposed to getting tokens weekly), but I’m just giving a suggestion for those unable to attend these weekly events. And I see how would be a bit broken for newer players to obtain these rare items, so maybe it should be held elsewhere like in Winden Town (just because of Winden being empty) or Tanren.
