Event Idea: Catch the Abra

I haven’t seen events recently, but I think this would be something fun.

The first method is likely the easiest to do. The area would be large with a single, level 1 abra that only teleports around. Everyone would have their moves permanently disabled while in the area, meaning they could only rely on their “f” default attack. First one to faint the abra wins. (You could mix this up by including dittos that have transformed into abras, adding a tricky element to the event. Furthermore there are several traps [sleep, slow, etc] that would make the event even trickier.)

Second would require a bit of coding:
There is a large area filled with MANY level 1 abras that know teleport. There is a 2 minute timer, and the person to KO the most abras would win. However, I could see this causing a bit of lag.

It’s simple and would be fun. Any opinions, comments, or loopholes?

You want loopholes? You got loopholes.

Due to the fact that Teleport has a bit of freeze lag, it could be easily caught. Maybe if it was a maze of some sort in the large room, then possibly teleportation wouldn’t be a problem. Though, the traps may be void as well for some items/abilities that can pass by them without effect (Trap Scarf, Insomnia for Sleep Traps, etc). So maybe the items could be restricted as well, but I don’t think that the abilities can be locked as of yet (unless they change your ability when entering with a move like Soak or Worry Seed).

Assuming that there’s still an F attack lock for the second suggestion, I would see that wouldn’t be a problem at all. However, it could be a problem with the timer being coded (if it runs real-time or frame-time) and the spawn encounter being raised. But either than that, I see no problems with the second one.

I think this is a great event suggestion, though! :D Catch the Abra might be as fun as Capture the Flag, except you have to run after the flag(s). So I approve!

Huzzah. :]

Then perhaps the abra could be of a higher level so that one hit won’t kill it, making the freeze lag of teleport less of an issue. It could even be a high level and take several minutes to kill! Last hitter could be identified if this was an “Event abra” that had a unique ability that paralyzed the user that kills it.

I forgot to mention but yes, items would be restricted as well. Abilities don’t matter so much. In fact, think of it as a reverse dodgeball, but instead of the players running away from something while in a restricted state they’re all chasing it.

You have my approval~ I like the concept, and it sounds very entertaining!
