Event Suggestion: Team PvP Tournament

So I’ve been thinking of a way to revive PvP in PMU, and after considering the possibilities and Coding limitation, I finally come up with this idea.

It’s a fast-paced PvP Tournament that will certainly require teamwork, communication, and strategy. Combination of moves and sophisticated play.

Theme: Capture the flag, Point Capture.

Requirement:

  1. 4 vs 4 (party vs party)
  2. no items
  3. 1 pokemon only
addition to the requirement is welcomed

Gameplay Breakdown
The map will be designed to have 3 flag/points (or more) to be captured and defended. Whoever captured most points/flags and could defend it within the allocated time will win the tournament.

Participation and Brackets system
Originally, I wanted this tournament to be in the form of Tourney-three or bracket system so everyone could participate, and in order to participate, You will first have to make a party of 4 and register your party member to Staff where you can get Participation token, maybe.

Preparation room and Respawn
The Map itself will consist of 3 rooms.
The main map, and 2 Team rooms, where each team before the tournament started have time to organize, choose what pokemon, re-learn moves, move tutoring, Egg-move tutoring and so on, and in my thoughts I wonder if time-fixed respawn system can be implemented, or if not, an instant respawn could work as well to make it more chaotic battle.

Tier and mode
Just like the Stadium event. This tournament will also consist of 3 tiers.

  1. First evolution line pokemon,
  2. Middle evolution pokemon
  3. and fully evolved pokemon / non-evolved pokemon.

Random generated Weather/darkness system
As the battle unfolds, Staff has the free-reign over manipulating the battlefield with weather and darkness to make the battle even more complex.

Seasonal banned Pokemon/Moves
Each tournament will have some banned Moves and Pokemon to create a diversity of picks and strategies.

This is what I can think of so far. Any input and critique will be welcome.

Issue so far
Disconnection. Yes if people crash, I still don’t know how to deal with it, which is why this tournament will require a staff to watch over it to make the call.

While it would definetly make for an interesting pvp tourney i dont think staff/players would really want this in the event rotation overall at least from what ive seen over the year only a very select few like PvP sadly :frowning:

I can see that for the mean time due to PMU being short-handed in staff. But perhaps, in the future? Who knows.
