Evolve in PMU8 Idea

Hey Staffs i have a idea to PMU8 what about if you can evolve in caves like this on the photo it will be so more simpel for everyone new and olds for if you miss the tablet so you nedd to go in Cliffsidecave agian and that is bad

about pokemons there evolve with the item you use the item in a dungeon

Exeampel you Use a ThunderStone on your pikachu and so it can evolve it will make it bit more easy

Getting the Engraved Tablet is pretty easy in and of itself.

  1. Train in dojo a ton.
1.5 (Optional). Get a Buizel with sonic boom and wreck everything.
  2. Rip Golem a new one.

yea its raight but have you think about the new ones there ask all to help them with getting tablet its that i mean

If they need help then they should do something like what I said above, train.

I could solo the darn place back when I was a level 21 cyndaquil, and it hasn’t changed much since then barring the addition of blight clay and I believe the removal of rock tomb or something. Stone edge? Whatever.

It’s not as hard as one would think. Just train in dojo until you think you’re ready (This would depend on what starter you chose.) or, get a Buizel and absolutely murder everything with sonic boom and/or water gun. You can do whatever you please with the Buizel afterwards.

If this got in and cliffside still had the tablet, what use would cliffside have? And if you still needed the tablet, why not just go to the temple and evolve there?

• Guide them towards Cliffside / give them pointers.
or
• Refer them to a guide on Forums. (I wrote on with some directions, tips, and stuff. D8 )

It’s not too hard once you know how to do it! Besides, the previous PMD games use the same idea. Pass a certain point in the story / finish a goal to be able to evolve at a certain location.

I agree with Agunimon. I don’t like that evolving in PMD3: GtI was so easy…and the way PMD1 made it was again too easy…but not as easy as PMD3. The Tablet is a good balance to keep new players from evolving too early and make them work for it. I had help getting my tablet yes…but I didn’t use it until I got it on my own. In PMD2/Sky you couldn’t evolve until after you encountered Palkia in the after-story…and that was a long way in…but I think it made it worth going through the whole game…but that might be just me.
Anyways…the way to evolve in PMU is fine…but maybe in my opinion…you shouldn’t be able to keep the tablet like I thought you would after you evolve a pokemon by entering the “wall”…reason I say this is because I have second tablet and it has no use so…why can we collect more than one if we only need to collect it once? Just saying.

Good point there, GuyroMaster!

Instead of it being an item, can it be some sort of an upgrade to the Explorer Kit?
Think of badges. They don’t show up in your bag, but you do get the bonuses from them.

Yes…and actually when I first started playing PMU…I thought I needed a Beginner Badge before my “rank” system was activated.
The thing though with Tablet being an explorer kit upgrade…it would also need to be limited to how you can “fill up” a bar or something to allow you to use it to evolve a Pokemon without being able to use it whenever you wish which is kinda broken…
Like the a “voice” tells you that you have depleted the tablet’s energy and to get another another one to refill it’s power gauge or maybe…have another added system to dungeons.

We gain Exp points when we defeat a Pokemon in dungeons and the overworld.
What if we also gained Evo points that slowly refilled our Tablet’s energy gauge to use it again? That would be a cool little feature and make evolving more than just use, “tablet…evolve and repeat”. Instead you would have to work for evolution.
The number of Evo (evolve) points gained:
~Defeat a Pokemon (overworld or dungeon) - 1 Evo point
~Defeat a mid-dungeon boss - 5 Evo points
~Defeat a dungeon boss - 10 Evo points
~Take damage - -1 Evo point
~Dungeon Giveup/Defeat - -10 Evo points

And then you would have the items.
Evolve Seed - Refills your Evolution Gauge.
Evolve Band - Refill your Evolution Gauge with movement in dungeons and overworld.
Devolve Seed - Depletes half of your Evolution Gauge.
Number of Evo points needed to refill gauge 200.
The gauge will depend also need to be filled up more to evolve the Pokemon to 2nd stage…or to Mega Evolve for as long as the Evolution Gauge has power…but you need a Mega Ring to evolve to Mega if you have Mega form available. (This part was added but this is how you could Mega Evolution to work.)

What do you think? Good idea or is it too much??

I think you’re just complicating things, Guyro. You don’t have to collect the Engraved Tablet every time you go to Cliffside Cave. And anyways, the evolution already is good. You don’t need to change it when it’s not even broken to begin with.

Um…then why do I have two of them? Because I do.

Like shadowlucario said, “evo points” is really over-complicating a system that does not need to be this complex. Even having the tablet disappear after you use it is far too tedious - this is not meant to be a game that burns minutes in a furnace. “Evo points” would turn the game into a total grind fest that would leave players frustrated and bored. The average person does not have enough time to mindlessly pour hours into grinding like this. Evolution isn’t even terribly hard to achieve in the main games. Your Pokemon gets stronger, but it’s not enough to warrant that amount of tedium.

In my opinion, there is nothing innately problematic about the evolution system we currently have. Evolving mid-dungeon would be interesting and akin to the main series of games, but I’m not sure that it would compliment the game’s play style.

I didn’t say you couldn’t collect a bunch of them. You can sell them for some decent Poké. But you don’t have to collect it everytime. And anyways…

Defleppard summarizes what would be wrong with it clearly.

This is a good idea! really good idea. At least thats a Legit way to evolve

I prefer the current evolution method, going to the Faded Relic to evolve.

Okay…okay…
I may have over complicated things because all you see are words and a whole mess of them. :@~@:
I will go into fine detail to explain everything in my own topic about how this can work without it being a grind fest or a chore. I will go into detail about this and how this can be coincided to MegaEvolve and how it can all work together.
For my topic I will provide every detail and use images/crops to show you everything I mean without over complicating things and make a clear and presentable presentation. I mean it’s just an idea, but it needs to have clarity to it.
Be looking out for this topic sometime this week or by next.
