GUIDE: Capture the Flag

Capture the FLAG

Hi! Traerth here with a neat-o guide on Capture the Flag! If you"re new, or unfamiliar with CTF (Capture The Flag), I made a video running through the basics of the game. Sorry in advance for the poor quality, I"ll upload a better version later. :joy: I hope this video answers most of your questions concerning Capture the Flag, I hope to see many new faces playing the game!

Unfortunately, the youtube BBcode button doesn"t seem to work! You"re going to have to click here to watch it.

Other:

Like the ending of the video states, Capture the Flag is a game that is meant to be played for fun, not to rub it in, or get too serious about, or something along the lines a sour player would do. Don"t take the game personally! With that being said, there"s no need to put down the other team (whether you win or lose), accuse them of cheating, or just being sore about it! Be a good sport! :]
I know it"s not really my job to be telling people how to play or how to talk to people at the end of the game/in a CTF game, but I"ve been seeing a lot of… frustration with the game. :[ And being a CTF fan myself, it brings me to tears-- see, I"m crying (weep) – OK, not really, but it upsets me to see so many people disliking the game! Let"s give the game a little more love, play it more often! XD

The guide is amazing.
Sadly PMU is not a big game and not many can actually see the video, but maybe there will be a new Guide list opened in the future which will be Video one. :joy:

Thank you! :D

Wonderful guide Trae-Chan. I feel this game is underrated as well. I’ve been in quite a few situations where’d people go to me and say " you’re cheating! " which is not true. I have a few tips up my sleeve for not getting caught and for catching others.

  • Know the map well. By knowing every path and turns that will happen, you can outspeed and confuse your opponent.

  • Predict your opponent’s movements. This way, you can dodge their attacks or catch them easier.

  • Running catches less at times. Walk if possible.

  • Team synergy is key. Try to develop a good defense such as three people guarding, one on the right, left, and middle. Staying in your designated spot is cruicial as well.

  • Turning speed is another thing a good CTF player should master.
