I’m guessing you’re using Paint.net, as that’s what you use to make your sprites. Anyway, I’m not sure how good at banner-making Paint.net is, as I’ve never actually tried with it. But a good tip is to download lots of brushes, and awesome fonts to make your banners even better! Try out new styles and keep on experimenting.
Actually, for sprites I use MS Paint, and for my banners I use GIMP. But I’ll take your advice. Are there any cool brushes/fonts I can get, and where?[/quote]

As Agun said, Dafont is a good place for your fonts. For brushes… http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/applications/gimpbrushes/, possibly? You should be able to find some good ones here. Also, Boxes may be able to help you find GIMP brushes, as an experienced GIMP user.
