Now, I won’t claim to know how things are on PMU when it comes to the items in circulation, but I do know that it’s really easy for me to get a surplus of items and just have to dump them all because my storage is full of junk. I see this as… pretty wasteful, to be honest. A lot of other MMOs have some sort of crafting system, so why not us? Especially now that we have the groundwork for it with Croagunk’s Swap Shop.
Ideally, there could be different npcs (probably inexperienced alchemists) in each town in the regions – including undercity and the island villages – but they all have different recipes and are locked behind being a certain explorer rank. Those ones could make simple items, while the more complex ones would be found by exploring the overworld to find the much more experienced ones that can make you much better items! Of course, the blanket cost would be low in grassroot and higher for the other alchemists in the overworld/other towns.
A few Exbel Examples
Grassroot Town
Dizzy (Shiny Spinda to show new players that shinies are indeed available, in case people in town aren’t flexing one of theirs at the time Cost of Alchemy: 500 Poke. Cheap, yes, but this is to help newbies cause they don’t have the bag/storage space or resources of most of the playerbase.)
- Fruit Basket [A basket full of fruits! Heals belly a lot. (Maybe by 70?)] Requires one banana, one apple, and one orange.
- Stamina Band – Requires a plain ribbon, a plain seed, and an apple.
- Berry Smoothie – [A healthy smoothie. The taste isn’t that great… Heals 100 HP and all nonvolatile status conditions.] Requires one Oran Berry, one Lum Berry, and one Chesto Berry
Exbel Plains. Not too far to the left of Grassroot, where the Stonehenge-esque ruins are in a dip.
Kaeru (Toxicroak. Maybe Croagunk’s parent? Cost of Alchemy: 1,000 Poke.)
- Fire Stone: Requires 20 Geo Pebbles, 10 Gravelerocks, and a Fire Diamond
- Water Stone: Requires 20 Geo Pebbles, 10 Gravelerocks, and a Water Diamond
- Thunder Stone: Requires 20 Geo Pebbles, 10 Gravelerocks, and an Electric Diamond
- Dawn Stone: Requires a Water Stone, an Ice Diamond, and a Ghost Diamond
- Shiny Stone: Requires a Dawn Stone, 20 Geo Pebbles, and 10 Gravelerocks.
- Moon Stone: Requires 20 Geo Pebbles, 10 Gravelerocks, and a Fairy Diamond
- Soothe Bell: Requires a Nifty Box, a Shiny Box, and a Light Box
Diamonds aren’t exactly easy for new people to get, but they could get one from the boxes that Togekiss gives out for eggs.
And before anyone asks, yes, I made a topic like this ages ago, but I won’t be linking it as it’s nowhere near as detailed as this one.
Unfortunately, at the original time of posting, I have no ideas for later places, just for some things that can be used to greatly help newbies.
- Yes, this is a good idea for everyone!
- Yes, this is a good idea but only for newer people.
- No, this will greatly devalue everything in the game.
