Link Cable

This was a suggestion made by MasterShadowNinja (He could not suggest on forums though)
But he was hoping that Link Cables could have a more common drop rate.

It is true that that drop rate for link cable from golem is extremely low, (1/50 I believe).
True, it is a rare item, and people have gotten it before, including myself, but it takes a great amount of time or just a LOT of luck.

A bad thing about it being that low, is that it discourages people even more to choose starters such as Abra. So while everyone else their level is evolving, they are not able to since they have to spend a lot of time hunting for their evo item, the link cable.
Also, the Pokemon that evolve with it, are not all that popular (machamp and haunter) So by boosting the drop rate by even a little would make their popularity go up.

Thanks for reading~

Well if any item you want can be made easier because you want it to, then what will keep it (and other items) from being rare?

In some games it takes weeks to get rare items not just hours as in pmu, also as you said the pokemon that evolve using a link cable aren’t popular so most go on pmu without noticing it. As for abra being a weak starter untill it evolves i belive the player Ice has a level 50+ abra so it seems as though it not impossible to train one.

And as i said, if link cable is made easier then what would happen when rhyhorn becomes recrutable and people are swarming for a protector? Surely rhyperior is stronger then golem and the floors are longer, and i believe its even rarer then link cable would that be lowered? If so then how about water stone from kingler, or zap band from luxray?

oooooh! Great counter argument! I agreee!
I personally dont need a link cable at the moment, but it would be nice to be able to get it easier.
but of course, there is fun in a challenge xD

The reason I started with Cyndaquil and not Togepi as I did on PMU6 is precisely this reason, that the evolution items can be insanely hard to get.
Had I started with Togepi, I would still only be a Togetic as Shiny Stone is not available at all.

As for abra being a weak starter untill it evolves i belive the player Ice has a level 50+ abra so it seems as though it not impossible to train one.

Nothing is ‘impossible’ to train. I personally have leveled a Weedle AND Magikarp into the low twenties with no difficulty at all, and they are worse than Abra. If it werent for the fact that Weedle would be absolutely pathetic inh ombat nomatter what level it was, I would be training one (as, again, I did in PMU6).

And as i said, if link cable is made easier then what would happen when rhyhorn becomes recrutable and people are swarming for a protector? Surely rhyperior is stronger then golem and the floors are longer, and i believe its even rarer then link cable would that be lowered?

There is little need to in this case. Most Pokemon evolve into a form that needs the link cable to evolve further in the mid twenties, compared to 42 for Rhyhorn. Furthermore, only 1 Pokemon even needs the Protector which is currently limited to people who choose it as a starter. The ones who evolve via link cable are not only readily available but more numerous
As for Water Stone, who drops it? Lol Kingler from Seaside. Its not like going through 13 floors of Cliffside or 30 floors of Sauna, try a grand total of 3 floors. Not only that, but the entrance to it is far closer than the other ones relative to the town.
Water Stone can also be found lying around in Sauna. It is the easiest to get of the lot.
And since when was Zap Band an evolution item? It is completely irrelevant to all of this.
