I asked Kysen nicely if I could use his idea of merging Pokemon and Persona. Persona is a roleplaying game created by Atlus, this roleplay will be closely related to Persona 4 rather than the other Persona titles.
Introduction
This roleplay takes place in the rural town of Inaba, located in Japan. You"re just a normal high schooler, attending Yasogami high… or so you think. One day, (this is when the roleplay begins, your first post should be the morning before this day. First day of the roleplay will be meeting each other, not the actual plot at first) you were watching the news when they said something about several disappearances. The date is April 12th, 2016. Strangely, the same thing happened EXACTLY five years ago. Five years ago, a group of teenagers discovered the last culprit. Strangely enough, the teenagers were able to travel into the television to chase after the culprit. They could even summon strange beings called Pokesonas to fight for them. Even though the group proved they could go through the television, no one else could… until now. You must make social links with others to evolve your Pokesona.
Plot
You"re a normal student, studying and taking classes during the day. During the night, you"re a crime fighter trying to discover the truth. For some odd reason, you"ve been given a Pokesona. A Pokesona is your true self, you will be able to summon them at will with an evoker. An evoker is a gun-like object that you shoot at your head to summon your very own Pokesona. You are a normal student at the beginning of the roleplay however, so do not say you have a Pokesona. Another string of disappearances and murders have appeared in the small town of Inaba. Do you have the courage to fight for what"s right… ?
Explanation of Pokesonas and Shadows
A Pokesona is your “true” self. Just like your shadow is your dark true side. To obtain a Pokesona, you must face your true self, or you get one at a special condition. Your shadow self appears on the television at midnight if you were ever kidnapped by the culprit. If you"re ever kidnapped, the team of kids with Pokesonas must save you before the fog appears in Inaba, or you will turn up dead due to the shadow Pokemon in the television world. Shadow Pokemon will attack anyone who has a Pokesona, they wait until the fog is in the town of Inaba before attacking regular humans though.
Explanation of Social Links
A social link is basically the friendship of you and another person"s character. The more trusting he/she is of you, the higher the social link. When a social link hits rank 10, the other person"s Pokesona will evolve (If someone gets a rank 10 social link with you, your Pokesona evolves). Please note that this means Pokesonas do NOT evolve via level. At rank 3, you will be able to take any fatal hits that are aimed at the person who made a social link. (Example: Main character is at low hp, teammate takes the hit instead.) At rank 4 or higher, you will be able to do different combo attacks with the other person on their request.
Super Effective Moves / Critical Hits
When you use you Pokesona and use a move that will be super effective, the Shadow Pokemon will be knocked down. The same thing happens when you get a critical hit with your Pokesona or your weapon. If all foes are knocked down, you can preform an all-out attack with everyone in the group. In an all-out attack, everyone attacks all the foes recklessly. It usually does high damage, but some Shadow Pokemon are resistant to all-out attacks. Bosses are not effected by all-out attacks either, they can not be knocked down either.
Television Things
You will not be able to enter the television on the first day in roleplay time, only after I give the okay, which will be on the 2nd day. Every time we enter the television, we must enter from the same spot or we"ll end up who knows where. The television world has Shadow Pokemon that you are required to train on in able to grow stronger, increase stats, and learn new attacks.
Luli"s 10 Evil Rules of Evilness
- I cannot stress this enough, but please do things that are actually possible, in other worlds, do not godmod.
- All Pokemon Mystery Universe rules apply, do not break them. Break them twice, and you will be expelled from the roleplay with a warning.
- There can be relationships, just don"t go too far. Keep it PG13 at all times.
- Just because there can be relationships, does not mean you should make a post of how much you love the other person"s character or whatever.
- Proper grammar. That means whatever would not make your 7th grade English teacher cringe.
- No text talk. None at all. If I see any more than once in several posts, I will auto expel you from this roleplay.
- No Gary-oaks or Mary-sues. In other words, no perfect characters. You have flaws, and so should your character.
- No legendary Pokesonas. I mean it.
- One character per person. Only exception is myself, because I need to control important characters such as teachers.
- Makes posts with AT LEAST three sentences.
