So, my computer shut down suddenly earlier today, and when I rebooted it and logged in, all three programs (PMU, the Map Editor, and the Music Player) automatically started. I later on tried this again, and sure enough, this is automatic whenever I restart my computer and login.
I was not informed that these programs would start each time I first login after restarting my computer, nor was I given an option as to if I wanted them to automatically open upon login or not. I want to know why this happens, why I was not told it would happen, why I wasn’t given an option while installing the programs to make it to where it doesn’t, and how I can stop it
Thanks for that.
But that still doesn’t answer my question of why it does this, why I wasn’t told about it, and why I wasnt given the option of if I wanted it or not.
It was never the intention to the developers of the client and it’s resources to start up automatically on turning on your computer like you are noticing.
The installer by default should not install PMU (or any shortcuts), to the “Startup folder”. Only when the user tells the installer to do so would such a possibility exist.
You likely were not told about it because it was not supposed to happen under normal circumstances, and since it wasn’t supposed to happen… There shouldn’t be an option to let it occur in the first place.
As Chaotix has stated… This isn’t something that we originally put into the download or client of PMU. I too had this problem when I had installed PMU on my laptop. I forgot how I had fixed it, but I recall having to uninstall and reinstall it to my laptop…
Sorry for the inconvenience with this. This issue was not something that was at all intended for PMU or any of the applications that go with it. If you are having any other issues with the client that aren’t linked with the current server downtime, just let me know and I will reply to you as soon as I can.
Regardless… Welcome to the PMU Forums! We apologize for the current server downtime, and hope to have news regarding the server as soon as we possibly can.
If its of any consolidation, this has only happened to me when I had no internet connection for over a week. But it stopped when, of course, my internet connection came back on.
As Yatterman has said, try uninstalling and reinstalling.
