Sursee impatiently tapped the floorboards of the ferry under her feet. She feverishly scribbled away at a small notepad on her desk. It was slightly bigger than A5, but not to far from A4. She scribbled random shapes and lines, then tried to join them up to make something. It was a small game she played to distract herself.
Sadly the more she thought about it, the more she remembered that she was distracing herself, making her feel yet even worse.
She slammed her head on the desk and held her breath for whatever she could.
“Leaavanny.” Whispered the Pokemon by her side.
It put it’s arms around Sursee in a motherly embrace. She sensed she was unhappy. It was this time three years ago that her father died.
Sursee said nothing as always. She whispered quietly to Raven. “We’ll show them i still have bite left in me.”
Raven is the only one she ever talks to, she trains all her Pokemon what to do in certain conditions. She never talks to anyone but Raven on rare occasions. She may be considered mute by some. Odd by others. There’s a vast variety of names one may call her.
The Leavanny let go of her trainer and leant down on the desk also. She wasn’t feeling too well either.
There were footsteps outside of the cabin. Leavanny used Camouflage to make herself scarce, neither of them were sure if Pokemon were allowed on the boat, out of their Pokeballs. Maybe there are exceptions like light Pokemon. No-one would want a Wailord on the side of the boat now would they?
The footsteps stopped, the person had gone. Leavanny was returned to her Pokeball for rest.
The young trainer laid down on the bed, hands across her stomach. Another attempt to distract herself.
ooc:you forgot Zack’s first name in the cast list ya silly sal. >:c
Zack sighed as he played a small handheld game, A small growlithe chewing a ball under the bed.
“Biscut…come here…” Zack said to Biscut, biscut following orders and jumping on Zack.
“Return…” The white haired boy sighed as the Growlithe went in the pokeball.
Meanwhile, a small nibbling sound was heard in the Engine room, cookie crumbs going around in a sort of trail. “Choo…choo. Choo…” The small pokemon chewed on a cookie.
The pokemon walked out of the engine room and to a room and kicked the door, as if knocking.
ooc:the door that Cub is kicking on is Sursee’s door. lets just say Cub dosnt know which door is which.
Alos, is it just me or does Sursee remind me of Surskit?
Checkers sat on his bed, reading a book, a Typhlosion laying by his feet, and a Buizel on his shoulder, eating a small, fruit block which was his special recipe.
Checkers rubbed his eyes, and put the book away, tapping Elijah’s head, then grabbed Sal and walked out the door, heading towards the port deck.
His gauntlet attached, and the 6 star-chips all safely in, he walked through the narrow hallway, and out-side.he rush of the ocean breeze caught his hair, and Sal hopped onto Elijah’s head, for his warmth.
He stood facing the ocean, as WIngulls called above him.
Kotetsu walked up onto the main deck. The wind blew through his hair and his long coat with his arms not in the sleeves fluttered like a bird. A massive Arcanine crowded most of the area around them. Its fur twisted, twirled and danced like it had a life of its own. Kotetsu grasped his left arm; the gauntlet with the six star chips was on tightly.
He also patted his pocket to make sure the two hundred dollars was there. He could finally leave that miserable town of his. Even though Kotetsu was known for his battling skills in Vermillion, he didn’t like that attention. It felt like the watchers of his battles were peering into his skull, and Exia didn’t feel at ease either. They fought furiously anyways, and came out of the dust of the battle as the victors.
Kotetsu read the letter again. He had to face over seventy others in this battle royale, and winning seventy matches in a row would not be easy. Exia sensed his fear and curled his massively fluffy tail around him. The warmth was something his mother could not give; only Exia and the rest of his team were close friends.
Kotetsu saw other contestants eyeing Exia and quickly told him to return into the Poke Ball. Sighing in anticipation, Kotetsu just wanted to start battling.
It’s pronounced Sur-Say. P.s Is it Biscuit or is it purposely misspelt?
Sursee felt a rumbling in her belly. She groaned and rolled onto her front. There was a thumping on the door.
Raven, her Leavanny released itself and went to the door. It opened it using sticky threads as her arms could not grasp the door handle. She pulled the door open and snapped off the thread.
“Lea. Vann?” She said, looking down at the Cubchoo. What it meant was unknown, probably just a rough translation of ‘huh?’
She stood in the way of the door, wondering who this Cubchoo was, she hadn’t seen him before. She smiled down to it, waving. She bent down and patted it’s head like a mother and child or an older sibling.
Sursee was silent, face down on the pillow, dreading every single second on this wretched boat.
ooc:Eh? misspelt? ?_? Biscut. thats how my family says it, atleast. -shrug-
“Choo?..” The bear pokemon said, titling its head to the side in a questioning manner. Cubchoo finished up its cookie and…accidentaly bit its paw. “Choo…” Cubchoo said, tears welling up now that he bit his paw. “Chu…Chu…CHOOO!!!” The polar bear said crying.
Raven jumped back slightly.
“Vaan?” She wasn’t sure why he was crying, she wasn’t entirely paying that much attention. She tried to calm him down, whispering ‘shh’.
She moved her arms down signaling for him to be quieter.
Why was there a rogue Cubchoo around anyway?
There was a racket. Sursee groaned uncomfortably, putting a pillow over her head, still face down.
Her Pokeballs rattled in agitation. Gale, the Archeops, left one of them.
She spread her wings and cawed, glaring at the Leavanny.
Raven explained what happened. Gale didn’t really understand either.
“Arrr.” She said in a pitiful manner, almost like ‘Aww’.
She jumped down beside him and wrapped her wings around him, keeping him warmer. She wasn’t really aware of his ice typing though. It was more of an instinct from where she came from. Winter was never nice to the chicks. Alone, they wouldn’t survive.
Checkers had both hands on the railing, while Sal and Elijah practiced their fighting technique. He then seemed to somehow notice a young man with a giant Arcanine and was immediately interested, tapping his Pokemon, and walked over to the boy, accidentally leaving his ruck-sack, his book and some sunglasses behind.
He approached the boy, cautious at first, warily eyeing the Arcanine.
“Phlo, Typhlosion.” Elijah had stopped his playing, and was at Checkers’s side, he too was eyeing the Arcanine.
“Hi.” Checkers said, looking at the boy.
Raven refused to take the cookie. She wasn’t hungry and while the boat was rocking, she wasn’t going to eat.
Gale snapped up the cookie into her jaws and crushed it between her razor sharp teeth, crumbs fell back into the depth of her jaws.
She swallowed the cookie and said thanks.
Sursee sat up and looked out her window, water all around from what she could see. She sighed and walked out for some fresh air.
She walked up onto the deck, the Leavanny following her. Gale stayed behind with the Cubchoo.
She saw two other people, both boys. She sighed and walked over to the rails on the deck, she leant on the bars and took deep breaths.
ooc:after this i might make some edits to zack’s team. rememebr. its a might. >:C
Zack groaned as after some scrumbling through the ship, he managed to get outside.
Zack whistled with his fingers acting like a…well, whistle.
A few seconds later, a scizor came flying down from the top of the ship “Scizor…”
“Yep. Now, any idea where we go now?”
“Zor…” “Ugh…idiot. .-.”
Cub’s ears twitched as he suddenly jumped out of the Archeop’s grip and jumped twords the window, unfortunatly failing to break through it. “Chooo!” Cub said, smacking agenst the window again and again.
A boy who seemed younger greeted Kotetsu with a “hi”.
“Well, hello,” Kotetsu said with a grin that masked his true emotions. He was the kind who spoke very little. His Pokemon could work with each other without verbal commands. Kotetsu usually used signals instead, he found it far more useful in certain situations.
Exia was far larger than any normal Arcanine and he did attract much attention. Kotetsu noticed a young girl who seemed to be around her teens eyeing him and the boy who greeted Kotetsu.
“My name is Kotetsu, call me Tiger if you’d like.”
With those few words to the boy, Kotetsu walked back into the ship.
“Vee! Vee,” Kari ran energetically around their small cabin.
Kotetsu collapsed on the bed and sighed. The others were being friendly, but was it a mask to hide the truth like his grin earlier?
Checkers had a stern face as Tiger, a bit older than Checkers, walked off.
“Ty! Typhlosion!” Elijah snorted, his neck ring flaring up.
“Now now, Elijah” Checkers said, rubbing the Typhlosion’s back to calm him down.
Sal, being a playful little Buizel, saw a Leavanny, standing next to a girl. He ran over, and tackled the Leavanny, knocking her over and giggling, a playful look in his eyes. He noticed the Girl, then stopped, a playful look turning into an apologetic one.
Raven landed on the ground and winced in pain. She had badly damaged her hip in a past battle as a Swadloon. She was bound by the Steelix, it’s metallic body crushing the air out of her ever so slowly. Torture. It had decided to hurry along, using Crunch. That was what damaged her the most. Even now she can still feel the misery in her bones.
Doctors did what they could, but after evolving, it seems that the fixtures did not adjust with her own changes.
Sursee gasped and bent down, she stroked the Leavanny on the head, trying to comfort her.
Raven growled and stood herself up with the help of her trainer. She turned around and growled at the Buizel, slightly leaning on the side of the boat. Her arms glowed as she was about to attack.
Sursee quickly leant over and tapped the Nurturing Pokemon on the head with the Pokeball.
The trainer shook her head, as if to say sorry.
Checkers and Elijah quickly scurried over, Elijah scooping Sal, tutting.
“Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!!!” Checkers gasped, “Sal is still quite young, and doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong just yet. If there’s is anything I can do, anything at all, please let me know.” He said, an apologetic sigh, and he rubbed his head.
Suddenly, the PA system on the ship rang, and a feminine voice sounded. “We are docking on Corridor Island in 5 minutes, please gather your things, and exit using the provided exits. Anyone caught jumping over the railings will receive a fine of $300. We hope you enjoyed your trip.”
Checkers gaped, and ran back to his room, Elijah, still holding Sal, followed.
Checkers quickly turned back, and ran to the girl. “My name is Checkers. Would you like me to escort you back to your room?” He asked.
Sursee smiled lightly and shook her head, signaling that she was alright.
The speakers sounded. A woman spoke. Sursee listened intently to every word. She was startled when the boy ran off. He then turned back and spoke. He offered to bring her back to her cabin.
Sursee smiled and shook her head, holding onto the boat’s banister.
She had temporarily forgotten about her sea sickness, unfortunately by thinking of not being ill, she remembered. She gripped the railing and took deep breaths. Everything she had was still in that suitcase, everything she may need on the move was in her shoulder bag. It was heavy and had a strong force on the strap, but at least it could be used as a backpack if it got too heavy, of it could add the extra strap onto the other shoulder.
She began to miss her half-brother who packed that bag lovingly knowing it’d he a while before he saw her again.
She then opened her eyes and looked out to sea.
Five minutes huh? I better get Gale then. She let go slowly, skimming her fingers along the rail as she walked back towards her room to retrieve her Archeops.
Gale squawked, opening her wings wide. Her wing span was quite startling considering how much smaller they looked when closed. She lunged forwards, grabbing the Cubchoo in her arms. “Stop that!” She shouted in her own language. She had trained young birds in her old home. Trained them how to live, she had an oddly protective behavior to most Pokemon, whether they be older or younger, but no matter what, she would never betray her master. It was her fault that the girl could no longer sleep alone at night. She never meant it, in fact it wasn’t even her. She just never helped.
One of the Poke Balls on the desk shook. It was Exia’s Poke Ball. Exia always shook around when he was excited or trying to convey a meaning. In this case, it must be the longing to go out on the deck. It was always hot and stuffy when they were in a small room. Exia’s large mass took up most of the space, and because he was a Fire type, it didn’t really help.
Shoving half a sandwich into his mouth, Kotetsu stood up and straightened out his clothes; then grabbing his back pack, he walked outside and went onto the deck. A crowd of trainers were there in anticipation. They probably wanted to see the land of mysteries and adventure that lay ahead of them.
The Poke Ball shook again, Kotetsu didn’t want to summon out all of his Pokemon. He would like to keep the kins he had a secret. It would give him a possible edge in the battles to come.
“Exia,” he called out.
A bright red light spewed out from his backpack and a rather loud yawn emerged from the giant Arcanine. Exia always liked the fresh air, and so did Kotetsu. They grew up together in a decently populated city where there was no fresh air, so this was a real treat for both of them. The sea breeze that fluttered by brought back memories of Vermillion City from the past. Kotetsu was glad to have Exia as a partner, and he knew that he wouldn’t fail him in the future.
Standing straight and tall, they both looked at the new place that they would soon call home.
