I have always thought of this, are Pokemon Main series Game’s names based on colours of minerals?
I have always thought colours: Gen 1
Red-Colour
Blue-Colour
Green-Colour
Yellow-Colour Gen 2
Silver-Colour and Mineral
Gold-Colour and Mineral
Crystal-Mineral and I think it could be Crystal Clear which is sorta like a colour? Gen 3
Ruby-Mineral and Colour
Sapphire-Mineral and Colour
Emerald-Mineral and COlour
FireRED-Colour and remake of a colour game
LeafGREEN-Same as Firered Gen 4
Diamond-Mineral and Colour?
Pearl-Mineral and Colour?
Platinum- Colour and Mineral
With Gen 5’s Black and White I more strongly think Colours Gen 5
Black-Colour
White-Colour
Grey?(will updated if confirmed)
i never understood the colors and minerals but then again i never understood many names but i think there running out of names soo there gonna need some new system for naming (i belive they should use the regions in the name)
An Artist would argue that Black and White are shades rather than colors.
As for Pearl, It’s definately a color, it’s a VERY light pink. If I remember.
Diamond is not a color.
And, as you stated, Fire Red and Leaf Green are not Minerals.
So unless these exceptions are made, neither of your patterns work.
I would Also like to point out, that you missed out Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
Which, although they are colors, they can also be states of mind.
Technically diamonds CAN indeed have natural clours but are extremely rare.
Pearls can be white, silver-ish, most commonly light pink, and some occasions a lightish pink.
I believe black and white are shades anyway lol.
Basically to me it just seems that they are either colours, shades or something with sentimental value of some sort.
Ive never really thought about it, and technically there is no pattern to the arrangement of the games.
OK Now I believe it’s both and shades too =U. But I know that some people believe black/white are colours but yes they are indeed shades. Unless anyone wants to keep discussing may this be locked plz.

I guess I’ll leave it open for further discussion in the next few weeks.
