Since the PMU server is back up in Pokemon Online, I realized that some people started to play Pokemon Online, while others just stuck with Showdown. This got me thinking to what do PMU players prefer better.
If you vote, please explain why you prefer the battling simulator below. I’ll post my explanation about which one I prefer later, so I don’t influence anyone’s decision with my opinion.
It would obviously be Pokemon Showdown. It’s like Pokemon Online but with animation lol. And, I love Pokemon showdown cause it have only one server, wich make it easier for me to find my friends. Idk if PO have Formats, but Pokemon Showdown does and it looks very organized. So to resume all, I think Pokemon Showdown is a better battle Simulator than PO. You don’t even have to download it xD.

Anywho, I use showdown but I have no preference since I personally have never used PO. And I’m not too big in competitive battling so I don’t go on showdown much anyways.

And Pokemon Online, meh, it’s kind of good… but unless you don’t really know Pokemon that you know that will beat lots of other trolly Pokemon, it’s kind of boring. Maybe i’ll try Pokemon Showdown…
Pokemon Showdown is preferably better. For Pokemon Showdown, you do not require any download. It’s just simple online battle stimulation where you can come online and chat / battle friends. Regarding servers, Showdown has many servers but the most focused one is the official Smogon University. Surprisingly there’s also a roleplay area in Pokemon Showdown as well, which may be of interest to those non-pokemon tactic fans. Pokemon Online is nice, but the fact that it can be confusing to operate when you first start making teams, and the flow of chat isn’t really controlled by anyone. Yes, Pokemon Showdown can be laggy at time, you can get disconnected, ect. But that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be allowed. If Pokemon Showdown was as bad as certain users try to make it out to be, do you really think Smogon (who’s official server has been Pokemon Online for years) would partner with them? Hence, Pokemon Showdown over Pokemon Online~

Pokemon Online is an online simulator similar to Pokemon Showdown. You can create teams in the teambuilder and battle others online. You and your opponent can also be given a random team of 6 unique pokemon and battle by choosing Challenge Cup/Random Battle. Back on topic, Pokemon Showdown is the best simulator in my opinion. Pokemon Online does have a few extra features like incorporation all generations of play and having the ability to create your own server, but Pokemon Showdown does have a couple of features that stands out. Pokemon Showdown requires no download, so its more convenient for new players who want to try out battling simulators. Pokemon Showdown also has animated sprites and moves which is more entertaining then just sprites standing still while battling, when Pokemon Online doesn’t have any animated moves and their sprites stand still. The features that Pokemon Showdown have that are mentioned above is the reason why I think Pokemon Showdown>Pokemon Online.
I have just started playing Pokemon Showdown. In my opinion, it is a lot better. Also, for Pokemon Online, it is pretty good but it has no what I call ‘‘oomph’’ in it, and gets pretty boring after a couple of matches. For Pokemon Showdown, I really enjoy it and actually beat my first opponent for once in history
I mean, sure, there is a few negatives about Pokemon Showdown, but I think it is a lot better than Pokemon Online by far.
