Prankster Ability

It’s simple to say I was playing my sableye one day when I noticed that it’s moves had a smaller range than it should, and when I asked about it I was told that it was the after effects of an ability called prankster. This is a fifth gen ability so the exact effects within the pmd games is unknown as of yet. Which means the staff is left up to assigning their functions as they believe fit, which I mean is cool and I was fine with. But later, like a whiles later, I actually read the ability and I can’t make any coherent connection between the ability in suspect (prankster: Status category moves have their Speed Priority increased by 1) and it’s affects in game (to restrain any moves range to two tiles or less). And I want to know if any could make sense out of how this conclusion was made? The whole this ability clearly means moves have a smaller range. Or maybe the staff can explain to me how they reached this? Pretty much, does anyone know how this came to be?

I think the whole two tile thing with Sableye is either Prankster or its dream world ability, Stall.

If prankster does this then…I dont really get it…

But if Stall does it, I can kinda understand. Stall makes you move last (Terr. I. Ble.) in the actual games, and since speed really isn’t all that important in PMU (It effects your heal rate, but besides that…I dont know.) so, to give Stall some sorta effect, I guess the staff just shoved the two tile thing in it.

That is, if they did the…thing with stall.

(editted) The problem is that stall is already a confirmed ability within the pmd games, and it’s function is nothing like this either.

Doesn’t this belong in the suggestions section?
Just wondering :la:

Well considering I’m not making a suggestion, no, not at all.

uhm, bump? I really want to know what is up with this.

That is interesting, I remember blackfang showing me that Prankster doubled the range of a move for Whimsicott, who also has Prankster.

In the main series, Prankster increased the priority of status moves. Stall made the user move last.
In PMD, prankster didn’t exist, while Stall forced enemy computer-controlled players to not make the first move when battling.

In PMU, Prankster increases the range of status moves by two tiles. Stall limits all attacking moves to 2 tiles at maximum.

As a result, Sableye has a very unique range set consisting of close attack and long-range status.

Okay, thank you for clearing that up. Poor Sableye, it’s seems like everyone is trying to piss all over it. D:
