There are three(used to be four) Holiday Caves in a year. Making three fifty floor dungeon full of Pokemon, items, and boss fights seems to take up most of the year. That may be why 2012 had some new dungeons, but they weren’t coming out fast enough to where players wouldn’t get bored.
My suggestion is to lower the amount of Holiday Caves from three to two in order to create a larger time gap in which the staff team can use to add in more dungeons. I’ve heard complaints on how there is barely anything new in PMU, this is the best way to do it. HC lasts for two weeks, while these dungeons last as long as PMU does. My thought is that we remove Winter HC and keep Easter and Halloween. Easter has the egg system, which is important to most players, and Halloween is around six months away from Easter.
I’m guessing everyone is thinking where do all of the Winter HC Pokemon go. Two ideas are to either add them into permanent dungeons or add some into Easter or Halloween as a ‘side-dungeon’ that is Winter themed.
Hmm…maybe. Just maybe. It would make sense to add a winter-themed dungeon to Halloween HC, since it’s in the fall…and the idea of having more permanent dungeons/functions is definitely a good one. Although, I don’t think the removal of Summer HC was permanent. Weren’t they simply busy this year?
But, adding onto the idea, in lieu of Summer/Winter HC (although I would personally remove Halloween instead of Winter), we could have other special events that take less work; such as one of those clue-solving house-jumping games like the one for Char’s birthday.
Again, I miiight support the idea. After all, it’s kind of hard to imagine PMU without two of the HCs. :’:
Well, with fewer HCs, there is less lag. And the staff could possibly put more Pokemon in HC than there used to, to make up (a bit) for the fewer times it appears. More dungeons really isn’t a bad idea, since they do stick around longer, and then players won’t just swamp the game for four weeks a year, and maybe it could bring back some bored players? I see that some people only come on when new stuff is released, but there’s the matter of timezones and stuff, I guess…All in all, I kinda like this idea~
I agree with this idea completely. Too much effort has been put into HCs while we don’t get much actual permanent content. 4 dungeons that consist of 50+ floors (things like Halloween HC had a total of around 150) that only last 2 weeks seems a bit of a waste. I think having an Easter/Summer, which would be Easter with some more summer HC Pokemon and Halloween/Winter, which again would be a mix and then having them for, say, a month or 3 weeks or something each could work.
I agree with this… Haloween and easter hc are the only hc’s that i look forward to in pmu. Pmu needs way more dungeons to make it way more enjoyable to play. i hope this catches one of the staffs eye. :D
I kind of agree and disagree with your suggestion. I’d like to branch of this idea by suggesting that 2 of the 3 holiday caves released have new dungeon content in it, and one of holiday caves gets reused from last year’s content(like what happened with Halo HC). Every year a different holiday cave is reused.
I’d like to add that holiday caves give that excitement that many permanent dungeons don’t give. Winter, Halloween, and Easter are already huge holidays for the young crowd and removing any of them will bring up a lot of questions as to why any of them are removed.
With summer HC already removed from PMU, a few staff members are already working on new content. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see what new the content sooner because of the server shutdown.
Well, personally I love the Holiday Caves… i’m not trying to sound selfish, but I think it should stay.
Holiday Cave is like a ‘treat’ to other players. Sure, Summer Holiday Cave got removed. But that was because Summer isn’t an actual an event. Also, with Holiday Caves, it gives us a chance to get us new items, and most likely new Pokemon will be released. And personally, I think the dungeons we have now is pretty good. Tanren Dojo gives us a lot of Exp for begginers, despite the levels of the Pokemon there. Which is why we have places like Snowveil, Skyllift, and so on.
However, though I do not like the idea of Holiday Cave getting reduced for the new dungeons, I think they should work on one as soon as the server is back up, since we haven’t had a dungeon for some time now.
Staff kinda already had this idea for HC Summer(We were never going to get it anyway this year for more permanent things), which I like, I like more permanent things. I’d say keep the 3 main ones: Halloween, Christmas, and Easter. Summer doesn’t have a holiday except Labor/Labour Day and Independence Day(4th of July), and maybe some other holiday I’m not aware of, but they don’t have much significance, that is if you don’t live in the USA(Talking about Independence Day). So yes, this would be a nice thing to do and I think staff are on it too.
It is a rather good idea having just Halloween and Easter HCs.

It would be good to have just Halloween and Easter, because they are (to some extent) celebrated, or recognised throughout most places in the world.
For example, I live in Australia, we celebrate Easter, and occasionally celebrate Halloween, so it is much better than having Summer HC in the middle of Winter for us, (and vice-versa with Winter HC).
Remember that the Southern hemisphere is half of this planet, so should not be treated any different from the Northern.
While this is partially true, Christmas is one of the most celebrated holidays. And considering most of the population on PMU is in the northern hemisphere, it’s a given that the “Chirstmas” HC is referred to as Winter HC. Not saying all northern hemisphere places have an actual winter. Take a look at California, Arizona, and Florida and all alike, they have basically hot and hotter for seasons! It’s more of a majority thing, and hey, who doesn’t want a little snow in the summer time~ ^_^
