I like a lot of suggestions, and I love the voting feature recently implemented. It allows us to give our support to suggestions we like without having to comment “yeah, I agree with this suggestion”. However, why is it only restricted to three votes you can give out? I feel like it’s a bit too restrictive since you would have to go to another thread and remove your vote on another suggestion and vote on the other thread. Moreover, it could be extremely difficult to decide where to place your votes at since there can be many good suggestions all around. Could you remove the voting restriction, or at least give an explanation why it’s in place?
The goal of the voting system is to be able to gauge which issues player finds the most important to address within the more immediate time period, to that effect letting players limitlessly upvote all suggestions within a forum works to the detriment of that goal. Only having so many votes to casts makes it so you choose what you are voting on depending on how high priority a suggestion is to you and that in turn lets our staff team recognize what they should be working on/considering in the near future. Our staff only has so much man power and can only tackle so many issues at a time, having the help of knowing a handful of top priority things for the community from time to time helps them orient a direction to go without getting overwhelmed.
Suffice to say, the voting system isn’t for saying an idea is good, it is for saying which idea is the most valuable/important at the time, and that you want staff to see and perhaps implement first. You can like a post if you think it’s good as well, and that is infinite, or just provide a response saying you like the suggestion, but otherwise there isn’t a good reason to take away the function the voting system has just for some pat on the back system when it already servers a potentially valuable function.
Fair enough. I retract my vote.
Though I would like to see some system other than manually having to go back and remove votes for ideas that are implemented if such a system isn’t already in place.
As far as I’m aware when a thread closes (which i’m assuming is the progression following whatever suggestion in question is applied) you’ll get back your spent vote in said topic.
