Slightly better compensation for huge losses?

Greetings, now I am well aware and appreciate the time the staff has put into reviving the server, and I am glad that we received some form of compensation, but there is one thing I am not so sure about.

Free Eevee Eggs. Now while I hugely appreciate the fact that we are gifted free Pokemon as compensation, what if we don’t like Eevee, what if we already have a lot of them?

My suggestion is to make some sort of NPC that gives you a choice between a couple of Pokemon (First evos, obviously). Once you select the Pokemon, the egg of it will be added to your inventory. You can only do this once however.

Maybe the list of Pokemon could be a few starters and the aforementioned Eevee? Maybe a couple of unreleased Pokemon for those who lost gigantic amounts of time put into the game? For example, I have lost over 1000 hours that I put into the game.

As I said, I appreciate the staff being so supportive of their community, but I think those who lost a lot deserve better compensation.

because, eevee can evolve into others. it"s guaranteed that out of it"s evolutions, somebody likes them and wants them. i don"t really see the problem of it, since eevee is usually only available in holiday cave. but i know what you mean.

I can see your point, I myself don’t plan on getting any Eeveelutions, so the egg doesn’t really matter to me. However, I would love to see Unova Starter eggs (I know they’re in HT, but still, they’re hard to get).

Why give us an eevee when we will obviously be getting eevees in the future hcs. just doesnt make sense to me :l

Couldn’t of hit the nail in the head harder. Eevee isn’t that hard to get and there is several opportunities to get it each year, seems sort of shoddy for compensation to those dedicated to the game. Anyway, as I said, I appreciate the fact that they even give us a free Pokemon in the first place.

Personally I don"t care for eevee, its a shoddy attempt at giving people back what they lost (Some people lost their level 100s entirely. No darn Eevee"s gonna fix that.)

I demand everyone gets magic Eevocious eevees instead. Magic Eevocious eevees give us what we WANT DARN IT.

I realize the staff members have been hard at work, and due to the server host (Or whatever.) Being a giant jerkface, this happened. I do feel we should get a slightly better compensation. Lets pitch an idea! I"ll go first.

This may seem crazy, but why not a special NPC only available to people that played before the rollback (As to prevent new people from automatically getting cool new stuff) that gave you a list of pokemon that you might want, pick 1 or 2, then said NPC would give you the egg of said pokemon.

Same vein as the Eevee, but just better.

I’ll try and explain as best as I can what I have already told a few others who have asked me and other staff members similar questions…

The purpose of the compensation event was to allow players a somewhat easier time at getting back to where they were before the rollback. If we had the option to restore all lost player info from the rollback, we would have done it. But there is just no viable option to do that.

It is nearly impossible for us to tell how many accounts were or weren’t affected by the rollback (especially those that were completely lost… Sure, people have screenshots of their accounts from before the rollback, but it is fairly hard to determine what is real and what isn’t in screenshots, because images can be easily manipulated… You also have to keep in mind, not everyone has screenshots of their character… What do we do for those people? We’d have to give them their own personal form of compensation that is still fair to those who had their accounts restored to some degree… The biggest problem though: This is A LOT of work we are talking here!

We wanted to keep the event simplistic enough so we could still work on restoration (we didn’t finish content restoration by the time we wanted to get the server back up… Tanren Chambers is a prime example, that place is in need of much repair, and that alone is quite a bit of work for the staff team). Our goal is to find a balance where we give you guys “Some” form of compensation, that wouldn’t eat up our work time too much… This is pretty much the best we are going to get.

I’m sorry we can’t please everyone, but we are trying our best to fix the game, monitor the new server, work on the PMU8 Server and Client, get back to our previous development so we can get you guys some “New” content, and we just spent the last five months trying to bring the game back to you guys. We really appreciate the positive reactions we have gotten so far, but there just isn’t much else we can do in terms of the compensation event (at least in terms of bringing your accounts back to where they were)… You are just going to have to live with what we can offer right now.

As for the Eevee distribution… Again, we can’t please everyone, and we are doing what we can to make the return an enjoyable experience for everyone. The distribution was a last second thought that was suggested by one of our staff members, and we decided to roll with it… Sure, not everyone likes Eevee or it’s evolutions, I’m sure you would much prefer something else. I’m going to simply close off by quoting a good friend.

Regardless… I’m sorry if you are not satisfied with what we are doing with the compensation event, but it is pretty much the best we can do for now… We are still trying to test the server with events like dodgeball and such, the egg distribution is starting tomorrow, and we are working on re-releasing Halloween and Winter Holiday Cave.

your all getting selfish and greedy. i don"t see what"s wrong with eevee. okay, i get it, some people don"t like it, but it"s not all about you. it"s for others as well, others that may be happy. you can"t expect anything big, i mean come on, we have higher recruit rates, and EXP. so i don"t see why it"s such a massive deal.

i don’t think the people in this thread are selfish in the least, a large majority of pmu players lost a massive amount of their stuff due to this severe rollback. and i don’t believe it is selfish to want some kind of compensation for their losses, and if they would rather it this way than another how is it wrong to speak up about it when this compensation is for “their” loses? especially with such a shotty compensation. I know we should be grateful and all for getting anything at all but currently we are being offered the most commonly used event pokemon in all of pmu, which will most certainly be offered multiple times a year and if anything that kind of undermines the loses. like what just happened is some annual thing so it gets an annual compensation. nothing more, nothing less.

never the less i understand what the staff is trying to do, and appreciate it, but i would still side with a majority with them doing a little more than eevee.

Alright then, as I have stated several times, I appreciate the compensation in the form of a free Pokemon. To those who think people are being selfish, they lost a lot of their stuff. This is an exaggerated metaphor, but would you consider yourself selfish if you wanted good compensation for having your car stole or your house burnt down?

I myself, have no qualms about this anymore. I fully understand the reasons now. Thank you anyway. :joy:
