Soulbound Items

One of the most unfortunate events that can happen to anyone is being forced to give up in a dungeon, whether that be due to Escape Orb lag, accidentally pressing Give Up, or losing an Escape Rope to a sticky trap. I’ve come up with an idea to help remedy this that I believe would be fun, easy to implement, and beneficial to the economy.

Introducing… Soulbound items!

An NPC could be added in a late-game area, such as Frigid Heights. This NPC would give players the ability to “soulbind” specific items. Essentially, the player would be able to trade in their items for identical ones, with the difference being they can’t be dropped or lost. However, doing this would come at a cost.

I’m not sure on the best way to approach pricing this service. Perhaps existing items such as Heart Scales could be used as currency. Maybe goold old-fashioned Poke could be used. Maybe the currency used could depend on the item being soulbound. However, I’ve got suggestions.

The list of items I believe should be able to be soulbound, as well as a suggested prices to do so, are as follows:

Any Gem: 100 R/G/B/Y Shards
Any Crystal: 100 R/G/B/Y Shards
Any Globe: 100 R/G/B/Y Shards

X-Ray Specs: 30,000 Poke
Trap Scarf: 30,000 Poke
Friend Bow: 50,000 Poke
Mobile Scarf: 60,000 Poke
X-Ray Charm: 200,000 Poke
Exp. All: 200,000 Poke
Wonder Chest: 200,000 Poke
Amber Tear: 300,000 Poke
Miracle Chest: 300,000 Poke
Tight Belt: 1,000,000 Poke
Golden Mask: 1,000,000 Poke

Common Weather Rocks (Damp Rock, etc): 250 Ekop + 50,000 Poke
Rare Weather Rocks (Clear Rock, etc): 500 Ekop + 100,000 Poke

Adept Belt: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Failed Experiment: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Mermaid Veil: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Power Glove: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Scavenger’s Charm: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Scorched Bandana: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Spore Sac: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Strong Teeth: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Sturdy Shield: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke
Treasure Specs: 25 Big Mushrooms + 100,000 Poke

Status Relics: 5 Heart Scales + 20,000 Poke

Silks: 10 Heart Scales + 50,000 Poke
Plates: 10 Heart Scales + 50,000 Poke

I love the idea, fam items should be added to the list as well and there’s no way the prices would be that low, multiply them by 10 at least this would be a pretty powerful thing a high price makes sense

Family items would be far too complicated, given there are probably over 1000 of them now.

family items are also harder to get than most other items

That is true. However, I’m trying to keep my ideas somewhat easy to implement, and creating over 1000 new items would most likely be incredibly time consuming, and it’d probably take up a fair bit of space (don’t quote me on that though :magikarpyouseeingthis:)

I believe a better solution would be to make family items more accessible, in all honesty.
