As you all know Pokemon that are Water types can walk over Water tiles and Pokemon that are Fire types can walk over Lava Tiles.

Pokemon that are flying types or have the ability levitate can walk over both, and the 3rd “Air Tile” (Which, outside of TC, I’m pretty sure doesn’t exist in any PMU Dungeons)

Well, I’d like to add something to this. In all the other PMD games, Pokemon such as Metang, Magnemite, Ect. Can go over all 3 of those types of tiles. Even though they do not have the right typing or the right ability.

The game developers allowed them to go over because they’re “Floating” This also applies to many bug type Pokemon or any Pokemon that Flys/Floats that isn’t part of the respective typing usually required to go over the tiles.

If you’ve played any of the PMD games, you probably know what I’m talking about.

Think about it.

If you look at a Pokemon like Volcarona, it should obliviously just be able to fly over water, but it wouldn’t be able to In PMU’s Dungeons. (Now, I know Volcarona isn’t in PMU yet, but it’s an example)

Now Obliviously if this were implemented, the Pokemon would have to suffer the same effects. (E.G Beldum floats over Lava Tile, Is still burnt like any Non-Fire Pokemon.)

That’s honestly it, and feel free to add your opinions. Constructive Criticism is always welcome as well.

If I recall, the staff team uses Type based or special blocks that only allow certain types through. So for water, they cover it with blocks that only allow Water and Flying Types through(Levitate?). Same with lava and air. I’m guessing that the staff team will have to script in exceptions for a few Pokémon for it to work.

That’s a great suggestion you’re making, but they already started implementing that.

That flying type suggestion is actually something new. Great part.

Eh, I guess I see what you’re saying what. But I mean, if they cake make with a Pokemon that knows Surf go over water, such as Zigzagoon. Why not Other Pokemon?

This is what this folder is for: suggestions. Let’s just wait and see what they’ll do :joy:

That may be a bit of a bad idea since Zigzagoon’s typically don’t go over the water. It’ll be a bit of an unfair advantage.

Im pretty sure rampardos can learn surf so should it be able to go over water?

Yes he can. You can make your fun jokes about Rampardos walking on water, being like that Rhydon in Johto.

couldn’t they just code the levitating pokemon(in PMD) to receive an ‘invisible’ type so they could go over the blocks?

granted it would be harder than it sounds, but it would work through the complications
