I believe moves like charge beam shouldn’t be allowed in this tournament.
The rules clearly state and move that raises a stat is not allowed and yet your allowing moves like charge beam.
those kind of moves raise a stat and that is breaking the rules you set.

But it is also an attack, not just a stat raising move.
Its not just flat out stat raising, it still deals damage. but, whatever Dragon decides.
2 days is the tourney anyway, don’t see why you’re pointing this out so late.
I agree with atuskia on this (although I’m not using a move like Charge Beam). In addition to what atuskia said, I’d like to point out that banning these types of moves would be ridiculously difficult and time-consuming. Imagine all the moves that cause a stat boost or drop on you or your opponent: Charge Beam, Psychic, Crunch, Superpower, Leaf Storm, Ancientpower, Shadow Ball, etc. The list goes on and on, and I don’t think it would be worth banning all of these as they are rather commonly-used moves.
Also, Dragon and Drake, I heard rumors that you would be using Simple Beam to neutralize abilities. Is this true? I’m fine with it either way, but would like to point out that perhaps Entrainment using a Plusle or Minun (Plus and Minus are rather useless alone) or Skill Swap from an Exeggcute/Exeggutor (Chlorophyll is useless without Sun, which is banned, and Harvest is useless without Berries-- also banned), since Simple could cause some unintended haxy stat raises.
We see no problem with this as there are many more moves such as this, On another note it’s an attack move more then a purely bases stat boosting move, If that was the case then you would also be asking me and dragon to ban thunderbolt or flamethrower since they have a chance to inflict a status ailment on another player.
We are highly unsure about this but we will reach an answer by the end of the day and let everyone know either on here or at the tournament location tomorrow.
ok i have made a decision and instead of using simple beam i will be using an Exeggutor with skill swap instead

Now that that’s been resolved, when matchups be posted? I presume you’ll random-match (assign each person a number, then use a RNG to make pairs by drawing random numbers and discarding repeats?) the final 8 to sign up for the “preliminaries”, then do the same for the remaining 28 + 4, and so on up until the semifinals?
Matches will not be posted, since we already have them, you will find out when you arrive.
Just a fair warning, I may or may not show up. Depends if I wake up. It is rather early for my current sleeping schedule. So, I’m not sure. I’ll try and be there but no promises if sleep out weighs the 8’oclock hour for myself or seven…? For me, not really sure. My internet sucks anyway ~ I’ll try and show up but no promises.
