Trading pokemon on PMD games is impossible, so I was thinking of a sort of transfer with some of PMD"s mechanics. I have a few ideas of how this could work.
A sort of rescue mission, the pokemon from your alternate account or main whichever you are trading will be sent in a sort of job like thing, you know how PMU is supposed to be based off of the original PMD games? Well you do get a few pokemon through jobs (for example Gardevoir in PMD Blue/Red) but I was thinking about like when you do go for the rescue mission it"ll set you at a certain level, if you fail you lose your chance of ever transferring the pokemon, also with a certain code to somewhat lock the pokemon, a key to verify that it"s yours.
Another one of my ideas was that you either you could pay to transfer the pokemon with one of the staffs supervision like you can"t do anything unless a staff approves, the second one was sort of like my first suggestion with the rescue mission, you pay for the mission but also need a staffs approval.
Would be abused somehow and don’t you think it’s kinda a free name-change? Just transfer all the pokemons into an another character… And once again, trading teammates to sum random stranger? (yes, i know that you are sending the pokemon to yourself, but the pokemon doesn’t know that).
I’m gonna start of with number two. (Weird, I know . . . but first thoughts first.)
Kind of the whole “Staff Approval” thing was in effect with making Guilds in PMU6. It wasn’t too hard to find a Staff online (most of the time), but it cut into some of their time since they had to manually make you a guild. There was an item transfer that happened between player and Staff too. (20k for a Guild.)
With a larger community and a more tempting “transfer” option, if we do need a Staff to be there at the transfer, there’s gonna be no end to this line. If there isn’t an automatic, safe, reliable transfer method without Staff presence, it’s going to be too time consuming for both player and Staff.
I don’t think the Staff want to go through dozens of requests for missions and be there for transfer payment.
Keep in mind that you could potentially transfer over a high level or rare Pokemon you might not be able to get so easily into this new account, ultimately defeating the purpose of going through certain dungeons.
What are the perks of moving your Pokemon to a new account anyway? Name / account switches are easier because you lose less in terms of gameplay time, but you can’t just start the new account like every other? You’re going to have a potentially overpowered Pokemon that can just run rampant through the first few dungeons before reaching a point where the dungeon levels balance out. Where’s the fun in that?
I’m interested to hear more on this and the reasoning(s) behind wanting to transfer. o:
Sort of a selfish reason but for others that played HC which is currently removed would want to transfer to one of their more active accounts they are using, also about the high level thing, there could be a set level that you could transfer like up to level 5. I completely agree that transferring overpowered/higher levels would ruin it, but that would be where a level limit comes in. Also thepeoplethatwanttotransferhighlevelsshouldpie
You could just make countless of accounts and transfer all of the Pokemon on your other account onto that account. That would mean all of the starter Pokemon, if I’m not correct. I’m sure PMU is trying not to make it so you can get all of the starters in a day by ‘transferring’ Pokemon. It could also be abused, as GrateFate said. Just… ruins it all, don’t you think?
OK, first, change your font color. There’s nothing people hate more on forums than a blinding font color.
Secondly, this has been suggested multiple times over and over. Still doesn’t get approval and I doubt it will ever. Please consider how it can be abused. As the before stated it’d be way too broken being you can get any Pokemon from your other account. Including starters.
Although I disagree with the suggestion, I would just like to say that your starter is anchored to your account; you can’t delete it so I’d assume it would be impossible to trade it either if there was a transfer system added to PMU.
