Download The PMD Sprite Comic Pack
Download The PMD Font
Well hey there fellas, and throughout this “tutorial”, I am going to teach you how to make a sprite comic, along with a pack of some maps, effects, and other such things ready for your convenient download.
Note: You can do this easily with MS Paint, it’s built in on all Windows computers. For effects, or more advanced spriters, use Paint.NET, with it’s simplicity and effects.
Step 1: Collect a decent amount of sprites, maps, effects, and a text box of your choice. I collected PMD sprites from a place called The Spriter’s Resource , I will have a pack including many maps, effects, and face images on the download tomorrow.
Step 2: Choose a font, try to keep it consistent throughout the story, maybe even get different characters, for different fonts!
Step 3: Open up a new .png files, this part is important. For .jpegs are blury, and .bmp is way too large. Make it a decent size, there are many different styles of doing a sprite comic panel, I just get a backround and place my maps on them.
Step 4: Choose a backround, It could be an image, or a solid color. If an image, it can’t be too flashy, it will derive the reader’s attention away from the comic.
Step 5: Choose the appropriate sprites and maps, all you do is open them up.
Step 6: Get your select tool ready.
Step 7: Minimize those, and make a new file in Paint.
Step 8: Resize it to the best size for your comic.
Step 9: Go to your map.
Step 10: Select a part of your map. Don’t make it too big, or it won’t fit on the rows. Now copy it.
We’ll be doing 2 rows of 3 slides.
Step 11: Paste your map and stuff, now you have a page with maps.
Step 12: Next, go to your pokemon sprite, make sure the backround is white. Repaint it if needed. Select the best sprite for your scene, copy it.
Step 13: Paste your sprite in the spot on your map.
Step 14: On the next slide, you can add a sprite in the same place, such as if one was sleeping, and got up. It doesn’t have to be exact. People won’t notice.
Step 15: After sprite is added to one slide, add a text box. You can choose from the two sizes in my pack, or just make your own.
Step 16: Get a portrait for your sprite, choose one with the appropriate emote if it’s available. Most starters or more main pokemon have these. Check my several potrait files.
Step 17: Paste the portrait on your text box.
Step 18: Get a font to choose for your character. Type the words. I used the font: PMD. Either find it on google or just download it from above.
Step 19: Add effects if you must, like a question mark or something. Watch my video guide for more detailed details.
Step 20: Publish on imageshack and publish to PMU forums!

The Steps for a Published Comic
Step 1: Brainstorm, think of some ideas for a storyline.
Step 2: Get to typing. Take your time in writing the story. Make sure it hooks in readers, and makes them curious on whats going to happen next, which in turn, makes them want to read and join the comic, and tell others about it.
Step 3: Make a sign up sheet, or not, depending on if it’s a comic that only involves characters you made up, or one with some that you made up, and others do.
Step 4: Wait for some people to join. Have at least 1 person join your comic. 2 is better.
Step 5: Get to making pages! Remember, the more the merrier!
Step 6: Make sure they’re .png and that they’re ready for publishing.
Step 7: Go to imageshack, or whatever place your hosting your comic.
Step 8: Upload your file, and post it on the right place.
Step 9: Wait for the replies to come a’ rollin’ in.
Step 10: Continue your story!
Optional: Have a banner.
Make the sign up sheet like a roleplay one. :D
