"…Your will is strong…hero…
You…you are strong, but desire…change? The will to leave? To succeed? Whatever your reason…
…Your heart aches to fight. For them. You…have chosen them. These people…they appear in your mind.
They are special to you…
They are your friends…teammates. Companions…maybe even more…
One of them holds the key…the key to everything. All of them hold keys…but only one…has the ultimate key…
The key to everything…to escaping. To the safe…to living.
Hero…heed my words. Survive. Whatever it takes…survive. And keep them…besides you…always."
Plot
With the memory of your identity, and some blurry, brief memories of your life before now; you awake in a light room with six others (and a Mascot, if you choose to have one), in the same room as you. With no memories of how you got here, or who the fellow people here are, you tried to figure out what happened. But none of you remember, none of you remember anything.
Soon, you will realize your fate as a Universal Master…however, that is not just yet. Instead, you will find a few facts out: these six people you are with are now your team, you are all enrolled in the Universal Master Tournament (UMT), and you have a strong box in your possession, that cannot be opened by anything. It is sealed shut tightly by magic, and cannot be opened by brute force or magical skills. However, there is a keyhole (no, Sora, put the key blade away)! So now…you are thrown into the UMT with a handful of strangers (cough your favorite canon characters *cough). The question is…will you survive?
About Universal Masters
Universal Masters are the descendants to Game Masters, those who were only able to enter through the realm of “Video Games”. However, recently, there has been an outbreak of how many realms you are currently able to enter! There seems to be no actual limit, so know who knows if they are one! To gve you slight background knowledge, here is what it would be like to be a Game Master:
- [li]You can enter any video game, however, the matrix chooses for you.[/li]> [li]There is usually only two Game Masters per game. Any others are usually corrupt.[/li]> [li]There is no warning when you become a Game Master, you just “become” one.[/li]> [li]Game Masters are sent to cure their “problem” in life. They cannot leave until they do so.[/li]> [li]Game Masters do not remember their problem.[/li]> [li]You cannot change the outcome of the storyline.[/li]> [li]You may interact with any character, just don"t choice their storyline.[/li]> [li]The rule above has proven to been wrong, as a girl once saved two characters from their deaths.[/li]> [li]Every Game Master is given a weapon. Some get magic. Others don"t know how to use their weapon.[/li]> [li]A Game Master has one special and unique ability.[/li]> [li]Most Game Masters do not remember the outcome of the events of their game.[/li]> [li]They follow a series of rules called, “Matrix Conduct”.
More information can be found in a book located in the library of the capitol city. Universal Masters are very similar, but also extremely different. Universal Masters differ due to their interaction with fellow characters, abilities, rules to follow, and many other things. Here is what is important to know about Universal Masters:
- [li]All Universal Masters are enrolled in the tournament.[/li]> [li]Most are average Humans. They do not remember much of their life prior to the tournament.[/li]> [li]They all have one unique and special power in the beginning. It is possible to unlock more.[/li]> [li]They are given six teammates that they choice. They have a soulmate among someone in the group.[/li]> [li]There are two ways to win the game: kill all Universal Masters OR get the “Ultimate Key”.[/li]> [li]All Universal Masters have some sort of “problem” in their life. They forget it, but do not need to cure it.[/li]> [li]In order to get the “Ultimate Key” you must get all Heart Keys, including your own.[/li]> [li]Someone in your group is your soulmate. He or she is the one who has your Heart Key.[/li]> [li]All Universal Masters have a weapon. Some have weapons. Some do not know how to use their weapon.[/li]> [li]It is possible to change weapons later on. However, you need the money to do so, and the training.[/li]> [li]There are two possible routes in the tournament: Serpent -> Dragon and Basilisk -> Phoenix. [/li]> [li]You are not aware you are a Universal Master at first.[/li]> [li]You are the “Team Leader” unofficially, and your decisions alter the storyline.
Your Power
Every Universe Master is given one power that he or she can use as they see fit. They only begin with one power, but that power can be leveled up. Ontop of that, you can learn new powers through bonding events or by having fellow members teach you them. Magic is not included as a power, but you do not have magic at first. Magic can be taught, however. Power examples can be found below:
- [li]Teleportation[/li]> [li]Telekinesis[/li]> [li]Self Healing[/li]> [li]Absorption[/li]> [li]Invisibility
Your Team
Although you don"t remember, prior to the events of the Roleplay, there was a ceremony that allowed you to “pick” your team based on your mind and heart"s decision. While there, you almost found who would serve as your soulmate. However, you no longer remember this, hindering this ceremony pointless. Instead of going on a rant, I"ll explain your team to you:
- [li]There are a total of eight members: you, your six teammates, and your group mascot.[/li]> [li]Your mascot can be any “useless character”. They can get mail and send letters, spy, etc.[/li]> [li]There are a total of eight Heart Keys you can get in order to win. Each character has one, plus Ultimate.[/li]> [li]Power does not matter in your team. Teamwork can prove to be equally useful.[/li]> [li]While power isn"t important, skill should be considered to be. Learning skills to survive is important![/li]> [li]Teammates can teach you or others magic, weaponry, among other useful skills.[/li]> [li]You must get your teammates to trust you in order to get their Key Heart keys.[/li]> [li]The more you fight with your team, the closer you become! (and more amusing it becomes.)[/li]> [li]Hardships forge bonds, never forget that![/li]> [li]Someone in the group is your soulmate. You must find out who it is![/li]> [li]Friendship, rivalry and even gasp love can be forged throughout this journey.
There is many more to find out about teams! Just find out as you go!
Your Soulmate
Your soulmate can be Male or Female and does not to be a romantic interest. A soulmate can be a best friend, or a trustworthy companion. It is usually seen as someone who understands you on a spiritual level. He or she has the second to last Heart Key you will get: your own. With this, you can combine yours with all of your teammates and unlock the “Ultimate Key”!
A few important things about soulmates: you will be very compelled to protect your soulmate. Vice versa. This is even when you don"t realize who it is; this is because on a spiritual level, you still remember who it is. If your soulmate dies, so do you. Vice versa. It is not a wise idea to let anyone from your team die!!
Heart Keys
Heart Keys are the basis of the tournament if you choose to take the Basilisk -> Phoenix pathway. Heart Keys resemble your teammates most inner thoughts and feelings. They hold the secret to each character in your team and will only be received upon the trust of a character. All team members aside from mascots have Heart Keys. One character has more than one: your soulmate. Once you get all keys, you are allowed to combine them into the Ultimate Key which opens your strongbox and opens the “exit”. You can either choose to go home or stay to win the tournament.
The Strongbox
It"s really unknown what is in here. It is believed to be your heart"s desire, or could quite possibly be empty. It cannot be opened and is sealed by magic. Cannot be forced by brute force or magic. You need the Ultimate Key in order to open it.
The Tournament
At the very beginning of the RP, you will awake and meet your team. Using new found tactics, you have to leave the maze you are trapped in. Once outside, your team and other teams will arrive in the city capitol. You will get to meet fellow Universe Masters. You will be given two days to get to know your team and prepare. You will attend a series of meetings on the third day, and thrown into the wild on the fourth day. You must find out how to survive while completing a series of events. The events are unknown, except for the last, which is the coliseum: the most dangerous task.
Routes
There are two routes you can pick while joining the tournament. You can either start on the Basilisk half, or the Serpent half. Whatever team you are doesn"t really matter, but it will allow other Universe Master to understand what you plan to do. The two route you can pick are seen below:
Serpent -> Dragon: Serpent is the lowest, while Dragon is the highest. This is a team that are solely obsessed with winning. They will do so through brute force, and can be proved to be difficult, however, they can be beaten with teamwork. Teams don"t usually go with this route unless they cannot stand their team and are desperate for winning.
Basilisk -> Phoenix: Basilisk is the lowest, Phoenix is the highest. This is a team that are solely wanting to survive. They are trying to work together to survive and are trying to get the Heart Keys to escape the tournament: winning does not matter to them. They can beaten through brute force, technically. Most teams choose this until they learn that there is no end…unless you kill.
You can change your route at any time during the event. However, if you choose to do so you will begin at the very beginning of the route. You will begin as Basilisk or Serpent, depending on how you switch. It might be proved difficult to advance.
The End
Winning, escaping, or death results in “The End”. What really happens? No one is really sure. They say even escape is not the end. Winning is the end. But sometimes, alliances and friendships are formed with others. And you don"t want to kill…so maybe, there is another ending…that is for you to decide!
The Rules
[ul][li]You can pick ANY six characters you want. Plus, a mascot![/li]
[li]No cursing, please. If you do it once, I"ll let it slide, but don"t let it become a habit, "kay?[/li]
[li]Romance is indeed allowed, but nothing deemed “inappropriate”, nothing that is “disturbing”.[/li]
[li]Listen, I don"t want any drama. Drama is allowed in the RP, outside of it, first one starts, first one out.[/li]
[li]For Yulia and Cruxis sake, no trolling, nothing that offends other. I WILL KICK YOU OUT.[/li]
[li]If you have any questions PM moi, or leave it here in the thread. I"ll get back to you.[/li]
[li]Do not include character personality or History in sign up.[/li]
[li]If you aren"t sure of anything, make an educated guess.[/li]
[li]The character doesn"t have to be perfect, this is just meant to have fun with, experiment with.[/li]
[li]Feel free to add in your own twists and turns on the characters. Can"t wait to see the changes.[/li]
[li]THEMESONGS. ARE. AWESOME. Seriously, just consider these.[/li]
[li]Uhm…I"m really stressing this. So if you have questions, ASK!!![/li]
[li]OCs aren"t encouraged, but you can have 1-2 per team. No more than that allowed.[/li]
[li]Genderbends are hilarious. Feel free to add one, just don"t disturb fellow players.[/li]
[li]This will be a long Roleplay. Needs to have someone who is serious to join. Will be worth it, trust me!![/li]
[li]Enjoy yourself and all the havoc and chaos to come![/ul][/li]
Team Character Sheet
You will be signing up your team together. Since it is a tedious pain to constantly fill out all the information, I"ll just include small things for you to answer. DO NOT ADD PERSONALITY OR BIOGRAPHY. I want those to be explored throughout the story! Delete all brackets when you are done! ~
