Updates 9/15/2011

It’s been a while since one of these are posted, but that was partially due to a few problems with the site.

Last night’s server restart had the following updates:

-Tiles aimed at Darkness are now a different color. They will no longer turn red if a Pokémon hidden in the darkness is targeted.
-Map darkness is now a changeable property (items such as Luminous Orb is particularly dependent on this in order to be possible in the game).
-Each player and NPC have their own sight range, which can be altered (items such as Blinker Seed or Eyedrop Seed are dependent on this in order to be possible in the game)
-A bug with items not working when NPCs are holding them is fixed.

also, here’s a list of all updates in the past few days that we didn’t say anything on:

-Music has a fading effect now when it transitions from one song to another.
-NPCs can pick up items (but not use them)
-NPCs can use items (but they don’t know how)
-Maps can have status effects now, which make moves such as Trick Room or Wonder Room possible.
-NPCs will not target a player if s/he is on an NPC avoid tile, and will stop targeting a player if he or she reaches that tile when targeted. All “paths” in the overworld are guarded with NPC avoid tiles, so if you want to avoid getting attacked, stay on the path!
-Refresh is fixed. Type in /refresh to clear any de-synching problems with the game, such as invisible, undead, or frozen NPCs.
-Various incarnations of the frozen/invisible/undead NPC bug are now fixed.
-The highest possible speed is now triple speed, instead of quadruple speed. The number of movement speed levels has stayed the same, however.

There’s more, but these are the most “deep” server changes.

The next time the server updates on a restart, the details will be given in a new thread.
