Winden and Tanren Towns as Primary Cities

Hello!

As I’m making my way through this game (I started earlier this week when the servers came back up) I’m realizing this game is actually pretty big! The map has a lot to it, and there’s a lot of running involved.

I recently cleared Sauna, and it was extremely challenging. But probably the most time consuming part of getting through it was the run from the Crossroads to Winden Village every single time I died. Then I questioned, why am I stuck setting my spawn point to a town that is only relevant in location to low level players, whom literally spawn out of the tutorial about 30 tiles away?

Rounding out the few remaining vendors in other towns would be a good idea, as well as (and more importantly) giving people the ability to set their spawns there would be a good change, I believe.

I’ve heard it’s the same with Tanren.

Grassroot town is in the middle of rather low level things. As a character progresses, their efforts and destinations will all start to consistently be focused in specific areas further and further away. As people get to higher levels, it may be a good idea to let them set the homes in the regions that are relevant to them.

I’m sure this has occurred to somebody before, and I am definitely curious in hearing why this was passed on.

You can actually set your spawn in Winden and Tanren, because you just have to go to the housing centers there and set your house anywhere in your house. That way, when you leave the housing center (In Winden, that is the left hole in the big hall thing), you will be in those towns. The reason nobody does this is, everybody wants to be near the arena and stuff.

Well, that explains why I couldn’t find it…as that area is restricted until you beat the Sauna. Clearly, this game has been designed by Satan. (kidding)

Thanks for the pointer.

But to amend the suggestion, why not make the arena tied between all three towns? Or just universal in general, really. Maybe one could just queue for a match anywhere they wanted to! Magic. Regardless, it seems steps were intentionally taken to keep Grassroot relevant at most or all times, so maybe this suggestion is one that has already been mulled over and specifically decided against!

Travelling in PMU is actually fun, and while you walk around, you can see all the work that has been done.
This remembers me of Pokémon Pearl and Diamond, where you could only go to contests in a single town, so, if you were actually up for contests, you had to go there every single time (HM Fly ftw).
However, I think it is a good suggestion. Well done, Remi

Yea, I see what ya mean. I remember when I was a noob and first joined PMU, I had the same issue with Suana Cavern. However, it was a pretty cool experience seeing how Exbel looked by travelling through it to get to Winden. However, the whole traveling thing get’s easier as you go along, Once you get Fly and Surf, It’s very simple.

Although, I would like to see a spawn point inside Winden Or Tanren without having to set your spawn inside your house. Because a house doesn’t quite have the Healing Centers or Storage Systems.

I also think that having spawns there would make the towns more lively. They both seem like ghost towns and it’s pretty sad that they don’t have much traffic through them. So yea, Personally I feel as though Winden and Tanren Should get spawns or something along those lines.
