/Ignore Command

Inventing an “/ignore” command I think was brought up in the past, and I don’t know how well that went for whoever pursue’d that. But anyways…

PMU has a long history of pointless arguments, people trying to exert their credibility and knowledge over others, or people just simply looking to entertain themselves by stating what they view as the flaws of your ways… 24/7. Most of the time these arguments actually get out of hand, to the point where our staff end up having to warn each player 5 times each, and don’t ever mute someone. I have experienced MANY times over my years of playing PMU, where players with disabilities have lost it on the global chat, and have gone on and on. Some people may be egotistically crushed by other people over the internet because of an argument about ultimately nothing. There have also been many circumstances where a particular group of people, like to unify, to verbally attack another or other individual player(s). These problems all really depend on the type of person you are to be quite honest. Some people can see the truth, and can simply ignore other peoples comments on their own, but other people cannot bare but to reply because they feel as if they must protect their own ego. They feel as if they must make points valid enough to shut down another person’s credibility. For this reason, creating a command in which you can block out the comments of any player you desire, except for a staff member, would probably be VERY beneficial. People would be more easily able to actually ignore players. They can also enjoy the game play without having to be forced to reveal their credibility to an individual who is pushing a perpetual and unworthy issue onto them. That is really all. I hope staff take this into consideration, as it could probably save PMU lives lol

(P.S. A good example of what I am talking about in this thread, is down below VVVVV)
(P.S.S. Thank you to the people down below for solidifying my concern, and giving a more visual representation of what I am talking about.)

If they feel like proving themselves, why would they stop at it and just turn off messages? I don’t believe they would.

Irrelevant

Uh-huh. Your whole point stands on it being benefical so that people that feel like proving themselves would be able to do that instead. I would say it’s more than relevant.

I’d say it’s pretty easy to ignore people without such a command. And, as Art mentioned, whoever needs to prove their point that badly won’t be using the feature.

“There have also been many circumstances where a particular group of people, like to unify, to verbally attack another or other individual player(s).”
Irrelevant.

One or many, what’s the difference? If they still won’t be able to resist proving themselves right then they won’t do anything about it.

That and the fact that it’s also easy to report to the staff. It’s part of the mods’ job, after all.

What real harm can be done if this command was actually implemented in the game? None. Oh wait I KNOW… Artmax would stop having so much funnnnnnnn! lol No wonder he is opposing me about this at the moment, and bringing this to the attention of his friends to oppose me as well.

Do you even listen to yourself? You’ve done a complete 180 from everything you said in this thread. Nice going.

lol IRRELEVANT.
You done yet?
AAAAAAAAAAND this is why we need an /ignore command folks!

Dare I ask why?

Nah.

Nah.
I dare, though. Why?

“I dare, though. Why?
”

LMAOOO PETTY

If you cared about the /ignore command, you would push the hypothetical ignore button and stop refreshing this page to check for replies every few seconds and to reply with meaningless messages. That just about proves the futility of the entire premise.

You are acting like you are not refreshing the page and doing the same now? lmaooo oh man artmax, you have your ways with words. Its okay though, have them. :P

I’m not doing the same, duh? I’m not asking for a pointless command that defies my own sense, I’m just reasoning a flaw out, so me doing that has no relevance at all.

Irrelevant. But go ahead Artmax, let it allllll out, im here to listen.

I’ll just quickly slot my opinion here and change the mood of the topic for the time being…

I don’t exactly see any harm of not adding it, and I’m more than sure that people would like it. (Not everyone of course, maybe newer players?) and I can see it being certainly beneficial to them, too. Heck, there’s people out there wish I could ignore.

But then again, it isn’t exactly difficult not to ignore somebody, especially with the chat moving upwards everytime somebody does send a message. Though I get the feeling this is going to be rather tedious to do… but hey, I’m no scripter so I can’t say; but this doesn’t seem like something staff would really take into consideration unfortunately, as useful as it can be. :/

with that being said, let the arguments continue.
